Lordy, that's a gruesome hit.  Scary.

Didn't catch the game yet, but I heard the guy had to get taken to the hospital.  Prayers go out to him and his family.

He's moving arms and legs.  He got smacked right into the right angled glass at the edge of the bench.  His head was leaning in over the boards and basically hit a wall.

Good to hear his arms and legs are moving.  Again thoughts and prayers out to him.  Who was the player again?

lol

I don't know his name!

I don't watch a ton of hockey, but the Bruins sucked me in for tonight's game.  Big letdown.

That's been their M.O. for years, unfortunately.

That won't be the case this year.

I'll believe it when I see it at this point.  I've seen them let us down too many times over the years.

Per WEEI:

No fine, no suspension for Chara for last night's hit.

Good news.

That was a tough situation.  I watched the hit about 20 times, and couldn't see any reason to believe it was intentional.  Particularly given Chara's clean track record, it was hard to say anything other than that it was an unfortunate situation, and a lot of bad luck.

I really think the NHL needs to find ways to take away the head shots (starting with getting rid of the instigator penalty), but this was just an unfortunate case where its hard to blame the player.

I thought the same way too.

I just thought the NHL would cave in here because of how it looked and Chara would've got a suspension.

Glad they didn't.

The Bruins are giving the C's a run for their money in the race to ruin my Saturday night.  Down 5-1 to Toronto (who stink, and whose pick the B's own again this year) after 2 periods.

Bruins would NEVER blow a 3-0 lead  ;)

Just tuned in at the start of the second.  So far so good I guess.

Here is the Bruins playoff schedule...

Playoff Hockey just about nothing better...

LETS GO!

(Oh and here's to hoping that B's and C's playoff schedules don't conflict).

Come on, Bruins ... let's get it going!! This team is better than this, and they've just got to dig down a little deeper, and find that spark that they are capable of creating. I've seen them play like crap this year, and I've seen them play like monsters ... time to flip that monster switch, boys!

If the B's can get ahead early in the game, they will win. There's no way they can let the Habs score early and go into full defense mode like they have been the first two games. Every goal the Habs have scored have been from a mistake on the B's part. They should win tonight's game.

B&C do u know if the Bruins had a time out in the third period or had they already used it?

The B's still had their timeout left. Claude definitely should have taken it when they were on the ropes in the 3rd period. I can't say I'm surprised that he didn't.

Figured i'd ressurect this thread...i'm pumped for tonights game...i'm thinking that whoever wins tonight probably takes the series.

One thing i wanted to discuss is just how bad johnny boychuk was in game 2 - Timmy was bad, but boychuk put the team in a couple of bad spots by forcing passes that weren't there...

Seems like Claude was on the same page as boyhcuk was demoted to the second line defensive team as seidenberg skated with chara in game 3.  Anyone else a bit displeased with his play this series?

Also, according to reports yesterday, chris kelly has a possible fracture.  Does anyone have word on this? Will we possibly be seeing seguin tonight in his stead?
