Something built around Ayton?  Gotta be, right?

I would've guessed Chris Paul and picks. Or maybe they have no picks left after Durant. Then it would need to be Ayton.

I don't think Ayton is a good fit with Porzingis.

Chris Paul's partially guaranteed deal and opening of cap space would be highly valuable for Washington. It would also help balance the Suns books by swapping him for Beal. Not increasing team salaries too much. Or adding a 4th perimeter guy who wants the ball in his hands. CP3 makes more sense to me than Ayton if PHO can put together a few picks with him.

Yikes, If Riley gets Beal for picks only and old lowry, I give up.

That is interesting. No Herro. WAS not wanting to take back long term salary.

Beal and Herro are duplicates of one another (Beal just being a better version of the same type of player). No real role for Herro in MIA if Beal joins unless they try to turn one of them into a PG.

I wonder what they could get in a trade for Herro. Could they get Bam some help in the frontcourt? A big forward that could help him Bam on the boards and on team defense? Or maybe a a PG>

I suppose Miami don't really need a PG with Jimmy and Bam there to do most of the playmaking. Beal gives them a 3rd playmaker. They got by with a limited Gabe Vincent at PG in the playoffs.

G - Herro, G Vincent
G - Beal
F - Jimmy, C Martin
F - K Love
C - Bam

They could play those two small SGs together in the backcourt and make it work. Not ideal though.

I wonder if MIA fail to get a quality starter in return for Herro in a trade would they be better off taking 2-3 role players. A solid PG and a backup big. Something like that.

The defensive identity of that group would be a complete mystery. Herro and Love are both very bad, and Beal is mediocre. Would be a lot of work for Bam

Would love to try and pick up Gafford on the cheap if they get Ayton. Think he’s really solid.

If it only takes picks and old man Lowry, why can't the C's just jump in lol.

Give em G.Will and Pritchard and a pick lol. Or just Smart for Beal straight up? I'll admit Idk anything about the cap haha

3-way combining rumors

Boston - Beal
Phoenix - Brogdon, Muscala
Washington - Paul, Gallinari, Pritchard, Kornet, 35, Bos 24 & 26, Pho 1st (whatever they can trade)

Wizards waive Paul and save a ton of money picking up Pritchard and 3 1st and the early 2nd.

Suns get 2 rotation players for Paul signed reasonably.

Boston gets Beal for basically draft picks and Brogdon
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Heck of a trade for the Suns.  They give up a center they're down on and a guy they're going to waive for Beal and Smart?

Meanwhile, the Wizards' return is pretty light:  they're getting the same return for Beal and KP as they'd get for Beal alone.

Something like this. I think it's interesting there are a few reports that pretty naturally fit together here. The good news too is that there is a deadline for a deal like this with Paul's salary becoming fully guaranteed in a few weeks.

Woj said on Russillo's podcast that people will be surprised at how little guys like Beal will go for in the new CBA. I don't think it will require that many firsts anymore.

About the only thing more disappointing to me than Brad keeping Mazz would be Brad trading for Beal. Of course,  if I could get a dime for anytime someone here complains about losing our defensive identity after the trade, I might feel different.

I guess you can give the wiz pritchard, I was to include some swaps the suns can offer to the heat,  but I rather get Ayton than the poo poo platter the heat are offering

I thought love may retire he is definitely not a starter either way

Suns with Booker/Kd/Beal and a bunch of minimum contracts would be interesting. can that team win with no depth?

Then again we said similar about the Miami Heat and they did just fine. But those 3 guys had different styles of play and had defensive identity.
