A few weeks ago, Enes Kanter stated that he had not been working out like he had before and admitted to being lazy. Clearly, this is not something we want to hear as Boston fans. But, how much concern does it pose for you guys?

For me, it definitely is concerning. We need a guy like him to be in the best shape he is in. He will be going up against some very tough interior big men come July.

That is a poor job on Kanter, to me.

Very Curious to hear your thoughts.

I'm not psyched about it, but he has plenty of time to get back into shape. I imagine this probably happens to players fairly often during the off-season.

Also, he will likely not be counted on for more than 20 mpg and he isn't exactly known for his lightning speed or insane vertical. He should still be strong, skilled and motivated.

NO. I mean he's not really that important to the team especially once we hit the playoffs. Maybe in a Phili matchup he could be used to throw a big body at Embiid otherwise I imagine the c's going small alot.

I don't think it's anything a video montage overdubbed with Eye of the Tiger between now and the end of July can't fix.

Ya man, I feel you. It is amazing too, you look at the flip side of the that. A guy like Harden and Jokic lost significant weight during this time. I just hope Enes is ready and in good playing shape.

An example I always think of is a Guy like Zion. He truly needs to be careful. Dude is 19 and is already 285. And in the NBA he is likely to get bigger. He is someone who would really need to be careful in a time like this.

I would be worried if he did NOT recognize his mistake.  The guy has integrity and he will fix it.

#1: He was honest about it, so he knows what he needs to do.

#2: That was a few weeks ago, for all we know, he could already be back in shape by now.

#3: He still has plenty of time to get back in shape if he needs to.

Kanter wouldn't be the only player in the league that got lazy from March to May when the possibility of a resumed season looked bleak. But having all of June and July to get in shape most likely means all those players should be in shape by the time the playoffs start.

Really, no biggie, IMHO.

Just how out of shape are we talking about?

I mean, if he let himself become Sully over night, that would be a problem.  If he just means not in 'NBA shape' well a month + of hard workouts will fix that.

Scares me because I want years of a healthy Zion, but that will require he either loses weight or is somehow as freakishly durable as he is freakishly athletic.
