Agree 100%.  Why give Exum $33M/3 years in this market?  What team is even offering him close to that?  Isn't he restricted?  No offer sheet was going to approach that value.

The 2nd year of the Favors contract is apparently non-guaranteed.  I'd hope the 3rd year of the Exum contract is non-guaranteed.  Still more than I'd want to pay for them.

How much of an impact do you think this has on Smart’s negotiations now? Extension vs free agency, but sill the guy who was picked 1 spot ahead of him.

I think Smart could be leaning toward the QO

If I were smart I would be thinking "im worth more than that guy." But I dont think he is going to get an offer better than that
 My guess is he takes the QO, a guy that thinks he worth more than 13-14 million seems pretty likely to bet on himself.

I believe Favors is. But Exum is way too much. He is a 4 or 5 million per guy.

I liked it better when Lou Williams and his $8M/yr was the new standard for Smart. This deal for Exum will almost surely push Smart to taking the QO. Exum is barely a vet min player at this point; apparently Utah thinks that he is still full of potential.

Maybe, but Exum is still seen as a guy with a lot of long term potential. Right or wrong Smart is not. Idea is Exum could grow to make this a value contract.
