Good topic.  I work in the financial field however the upheaval in the financial world is making me second guess my future somewhat.   I'm curious about hearing stories if people had major career changes due to changes in the economy over the past couple years.

My major job is as Celtics Blog Links Gatherer and Celtics fan.

Other than that, I am a retired math teacher and a homemaker and online math tutor.

Ok I'm going to follow the trend and retype this without my grammatical errors. I'm a surgeon working at Massachusetts General right now, hope to eventually open a private practice. At night, however, you can find me screaming frantically at the TV as Tony dribbles the ball off his feet!

Copy pasting from the other thread ;)

Well, as it happens to be, I'm working on a totally new portfolio website, I'll show it to ya soon, I'm sure you'll love it. I'm a lot of things at my company, and I work for a webdesign company.

Alright, I don't want to be a poser with all of the titles I've been given (since none are related to education) but I'm:
1) User interface designer
- I use Photoshop and other graphics software to design everything from intranets and websites to applications
2) Front end developer
- I am proficient in HTML and CSS coding and thus I not only make the layout, but I make it look good for the web as well
3) Content Management System implementation specialist (don't ask, I didn't come up with the titles)
- I tie up the back-end of applications with the front-end of them
4) Graphic consultant
- Not sure if that's the correct translation, but in short; I give people advice on the looks of their websites.

With all of the above come a lot of side-tracks, like writing test-cases, some project management tasks, brainstorm sessions and some print media design (like business cards, flyers and folders.)

I do these things both 40 hours a week for a boss, and do them on freelance base as well.
----------------------------

The above ;) I'll keep you guys posted on the status of my portfolio site, as I want all of your opinions once I get it up and running.

Great. Correct me when I'm failing at English, because I seriously need some help before I move to Australia :)

Quick side-question: do posts (or maybe even people) make you cringe every now and then? - from a language point of view, obviously ;)

Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

And always will. I refuse to download (much) music. 95% of the music I own is actually purchased ;) But I guess I'm the exception to the rule, ehy?
