Once JO is up to par does Shaq join the second unit? Wasn't that the original plan?

I hope so. The fact that Shaq needs to take a day or two off for his sore hips was a subtle reminder to me that while Shaq will help us big time this year - we can forget about him being able to do it for extended minutes.

Thank God for JO, Glen and Semih. With Shaq being somewhat limited, IMO there is the possibility that he may be used even less in the regular season....which could mean more minutes for Semih.

I think Semih won't disappoint.

I took it JO's starting was the plan until they brought Shaq in.  Then it was a guess until Shaq came into camp so fit and lively, which put it more up in the air.

Seeing the first unit struggle in the 1st quarter of the 2nd game as they did, I'd guess that it may end up being situational, with either guy starting, depending on the speed of the opposing team.

All pure conjecture on my part.

I agree, Greenfaith--Semih's going to have a real role on this team.

It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Yeah - worst case scenario is that both Shaq and JO are limited....I hate to look at it that way, but both of them have miles on them.

This makes Glen even more valuable, IMO - sure he has his limitations, but the man is young and durable.

I was hoping that Semih would be able to be brought along slowly, but I think the man will see some decent minutes this season, due to our natural age of JO and Shaq.

Overall - I think JO/Shaq will hold up this season and next. But Doc may want to seriously monitor their minutes.

The key is to hold out until our Perk gets back. I think Perk may have to get up to speed real quick by Mar 2011.....

Again - just speculation from a fan. But JO and Shaq are already missing practice time here in the pre-season. I'm as much an optimist as the next guy, but I want to throw in some realism, too.

My hats off to Danny Ainge in all of this. We are stacked enough to cushion this for this season, I think.

And then, there are always the Sheed rumors.......... ;D

Surprised to see Weems starting after how well Kleiza played the other night.

Is Kleiza being rested?

Defensive matchups perhaps.

Shaq vs. Bargniani? Hope raptors are not planning on playing him at center regularly or they will get abused.

Ok - we are looking Really Good here...Shaq and KG on the defensive end....I know there's been talk about Shaq's pick and roll defense, but the man looks good so far...Wow!
