As long as we're going small, I'd put Brown and Hayward in the starting lineup and bring Smart off the bench first for Irving as the backup PG.

PG: Irving (32), Smart (16), Wanamaker
SG: Brown (24), Rozier (16), Smart ( 8 )
SF: Tatum (32), Brown ( 8 ), Morris ( 8 ), Ojeyele
PF: Hayward (28), Morris (20)
C: Horford (30), Theis (18), Williams, (Baynes)

Smart is a point guard, and Rozier is a shooting guard. Hayward and Brown are starters.

If Rozier pouts, play Wanamaker and Ojeyele.

Morris is a jump shooter on a team of jump shooters - and like most jump shooters is prone to hot and cold streaks.  He was hot the first several weeks of the season - not any more.

I think that given the makeup of this team they need to consider replacing him with someone who can get to the basket and score because right now they only have Brown and Kyrie who can do that.

The thing is if he's not making his shots and isn't hustling on the defensive end, he doesn't bring a whole lot of positives to the equation.

We need to go back to the original starting 5.

We need Smart to bring that contagious energy off the bench (where I feel like it gets lost starting the game), and let Morris do his thing with the BWA.

I agree that Morris & Smart need to go back to the bench. We need more Brown energy and Hayward needs to start for the playmaking because he generally can't shoot or finish so maybe he will get more open looks when he starts. What we need is Baynes back or a buyout hopefully today of Robin Lopez. I like Williams but these last couple opponents are way above his pay grade and he has been exposed badly.

This. Dude needs to learn how to move the ball on offense and play defense.

Morris played only 18 minutes and managed to pull off a -15 +/- rating. His impact on this team has been the epitome of negative. Jaylen willed himself to a +5.

And Brad doesnt think how you start is important, unbelievable.

When I called out Morris his defense a couple of months ago, I got criticized.

Everybody said that Morris is a capable and versatile defender. Has that narrative changed?

I am all for a lineup containing all of Hayward, Irving, Brown and Tatum, but Horford is not a capable center in that lineup IMO.

Perhaps Hayward can hold his own at the pf spot defensively, but I dont think so, so that leaves Horford to pick up all the slack up front when he needs someone to pick up his slack.

Same goes for Tatum at the SF spot, who needs some help on defense as well. The defensive rating of that combo (Tatum/Hayward/Horford) this year (2019, last 19 games) has been 114.5, with a net rating of -3.4.

Also having Irving/Tatum/Hayward together has a dramatic defensive rating of 125.4!!! (in 78 minutes), so that line-up of Irving, Brown, Tatum, Hayward and Horford probably has no way of working out, especially on the defensive side.

It didn't work at the start of the season, so I don't really want go back to that. And I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have clicked last year with a fully healthy Hayward either.

Morris is like our Jeff Green.

He shows up whenever he wants to. But he's been ice cold these days, similarly to Jeff Green.

The curse of Marcus Morris still reigns supreme.
