I know they're a smallball team, but boy imagine if Houston signs him and then unleashes him as a "secret weapon" come playoff time

Might kick the tires on him next season if Kanter leaves.  Could be a decent cheap option if he’s healthy and in shape.

This season?  Nah.

Seeing how bad he was as Golden State's "secret weapon" I can only imagine this being a complete disaster

I'm not sure he has a place in the NBA anymore.

Too bad, he was exceptionally talented when he was healthy.

Yeah, this is where I'm at too. He's less durable than post-Boston KG

If he could stay healthy, a mighty big if, he's still incredibly talented and can shoot the three.

Even if he can get healthy, DMC is a huge person with multiple lower leg injuries.  I'm not sure he'll have any mobility left.
He'd have to still be really good on offense to outweigh how bad he'll be on defense.

I'm not sure he'll ever be fully healthy again.

Same injury started Cousin's slide as KD is trying to come back from....

Actually you could go back farther with KD. Off the top of my head, in the last few years he’s had a right foot fracture (Jones fracture), right knee hyperextension, right calf strain, and right Achilles’ rupture.

I think that you’re suggesting that Durant might possibly not ever be the player he once was. I think there’s a good chance that that’s right.

As for Cousins, the Achilles’ rupture, quad tear, and ACL rupture were all on the left side. I bet he’s done, frankly.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

That's what I was trying to put across. Thanks.

I think he will. Just not this year. Or not even the next. Depends how hard he wants to work.

But I doubt he will be as good as he was. Like IT, he will have to adjust to a new, post-injury reality.

The real question is, would he sign a 2 year contract.  I'd absolutely take him if I had an extra year.  I doubt he would sign a 2 year contract, but I'd certainly ask.

So much undeniable talent when healthy. It is a shame his career was wasted in purgatory and he never lived up to his potential.
