Best of lucks, ACF. Can't wait to watch the Rodriguez-Andersen combo tearing the Lakers apart in a couple of decades.  ;D

Remember that young British
goalkeeper?
(Kirkland? Is that it?)
Well, I think it was his dad who
placed a bet that his son would
be on England's football squad one day.
His dad made a huge amount of money
on that particular bet.

So, (ladies and) gentlemen:
Place your bets NOW  ;)

Thanks a lot, cordobes.
I appreciate it.

Just a little update from
"Camp Waiting for Baby ACF"  :)

No "news" yet so we're just waiting
and waiting and waiting.
Due date was yesterday, so it could
be anytime soon...
Things are packed and ready so that's
cool. I'm still somewhat in disbelief
that I'm going to be a father but I
guess everyone feels that way the first
time around(?).

Yeh the "overdue" time is super stressful.  Just keep in mind that the there is no real "late" baby, they're always right on time, it's our schedule that's messed up.

My first daughter was 8 days "late".  She was due on my birthday then ended up being born the day before my brothers wedding!

Best of luck with everything ACF.  Truly an indescribable event.
It just occurred to me that we could probably develop disbelief/stress algorithm related to baby-having.

I've done more than my fair share of useless, yet mildly amusing, stat compiling here Bob...this one's all on you.  Plus, I'm pretty sure I had my algorithm surgically removed several years ago.
Yup

"Baby ACF" was born on Saturday!
And we're all doing just fine.
We got home from the hospital
two hours ago and it's just
beautiful to return home with
our beloved baby son.
I can't begin to tell you how
happy I am.  Those of you that
have children will know what
I'm talking about  :)

I'll be back with a little more
on how things "went down" later
when I get some more free time.

Congrats ACF!  Have you guys come up with a nickname yet?  "Baby ACF" sounds like a mouthful. ;)

Thanks, guys.

No names yet but Paul, Kevin
or Ray might be something.
Or Larry Joe   ;)

Seriously, we do have some
ideas for a name. We'll see.
For now, he's just "Junior"  :)

Things didn't turn out quite like
we had expected. Our midwife had
told us that our boy was positioned
just right, with his head down and
all, just like it's supposed to be.
Well, she was WRONG!  ???
Anyway, the doctors had to do a
caesarian section on my girlfriend
because we chose it that way. We felt
there was too much risk involved for
her to give birth "naturally".
Besides, the birth could have begun at
any moment, so we had to go with a quick
decision...
We really hope we can experience a
"normal" birth the next time around.

I'll return with a pic of the little
one when we get the time to upload them  :)

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
Congratulations ACF...I know how long you've been waiting for this, you must be blown away to finally have him out in the world!
