Smart was really upset with the refs after the game. Him and Theis were still arguing with them as other players were greeting each each other on the way out.

The Sixers barely beat us without Tatum, and the Nets gave up 147 points in a double digit loss to the Cavs in Kyrie's first game with Harden and KD. I think the Celtics are in good shape.

lol.....that is not how it works guy.

So freaking out because we lost against a good team on the road without our best scorer and all-star player is the way it works?

Should have never brought Kemba back, he tried hero ball...didn't work...also, Danny Green beat us with all around hustle plays and big shots.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

The team hasn't been in synch with Kemba back. I think these guys need some practice time together. Tristan Thompson particularly is always out of synch with Kemba. He was much more comfortable with Theis out there. I imagine when Tatum's back too they will all need some adjustment. Tatum and Brown have gotten used to taken on more of the load and have taken the next step, particularly Brown. They will need to learn how to do that while still taking advantage of Kemba's strengths.

What else is new

They did the same against the Miami.  Right after the game winner

I just wish they stop.  Doc was crying all game also.

I didn't watch the game but I guess being in the match until the last seconds, counting the refs discutable decisions, the fact that our best player is out and that we played just one match in a week; away against one of the hottest team and the hottest player of the league, with a spirit of revenge for them; it is still very promising, isn't it?
The connection Kemba-Theis in second unit could be very usefull, I hope that with playing time limitation, we use Kemba  to be a supersub. I think he has nothing to envy to Jordan Clarckson by exemple  ;D; and the Jays need to continue to developp and learn to be overall leaders. TT will be OK for what he can bring. He is still in adaptation but his energyn experience and rebounds will be usefull when it counts. No matter if he scores 8 point a match. Theis is still OK and R Williams is in progress, nonobstant injuries.

The ranking may not count that much if there isn't public during PO, so I just hope Brad continue to develop our youth and see who's we are conting in the future, win the maximum of match to finish top 3 and find a good PF 3ND to be a real threat in the PO. It was just one loss and we found back rythm and fightning spirit after the putrid performance against Knicks. And if we face Philly in PO, both 100%, I would still be quiet optimistic.

So the difference in the game was FTs. I am not pointing that out to blame the refs, but to address how we remedy that. Embiid is a handful down low. Is there a way we can keep him to 10-12 fta instead of 21fta? Our team's big man rotation is built to handle the modern nba and contain smaller players. Is this just something we have to live with as a result of that? Or should we look at getting a bigger post defending type?

I also want to clarify, I know we aren't the only team Embiid does this to. I know he has his way with the likes of Drummond, Kat, etc on a nightly basis. Just maybe if we had someone along the lines of Steven Adams (archetype, not necessarily him) we could limit Embiid setting up shop under our basket.

Still boggles my mind is why Grant & Semi is still on this team.. there’s better players on the the FA market right now that are better like Dedmon
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Did the Celtics just bad luck into one of "Embiid, most talented player in the league" games that happen a few times a year?

The way he was playing, I doubt any of the C the Celtics have thrown on him in the past few years would have made a difference.   He was hitting outside shots (the ones you rather him take then go inside) and he was given the VIP pass to the FT line.

This is the Embiid you could see at most twice in an NBA series.  (but not likely)

I really hope Tatum is ready for some minutes on Friday.

We seem to do best by scheming double teams on him. He is not a good passer out of double team.  Brad has been pretty judicious using them, probably saving for the playoffs.

Was there any explanation offered for why Robert Williams and Tacko Fall both did not play?  The Celts may have benfitted by giving Embiid different looks.
