Hope..have to think Boston/Indiana wasn't willing to pay $120m 4yrs so Turner and xxx wasn't an option or an Ainge failure. Is Thompson Teague better than Turner McDermott anyway?

Thompson > Turner by a landslide.

McDermott = Teague, maybe? I don't watch enough Pacers game to know...I know Teague back in his Hawks days was pretty solid.

I'd probably take Turner and McDermott, but that wasn't gonna happen, so I'm good with what we got in Thompson and Teague.

This is an interesting point.

While trading Hayward might have given us something back, losing him for nothing gave us the full MLE. I guess that's value.

Was never a Doug fan, and though I like Turner, TT better fits with what they need.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Teague is still better than McDermott comfortably. Thompson and Turner is a wash for me, given salary differences
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Idk.  But worth asking the question based on reports that Danny wanted Warren and Aaron Holiday.   I think Warren/Holiday would have been better, but I'm not at all disappointed in the consolation prize.  Also, Danny isn't done.  Let's see what he gets from Charlotte and where that leads him.

Probably Thompson and Teague are better. The only thing is turner shoots 3 s etc so I think maybe the coaches would’ve preferred him to Thompson. But I think Thompson inside presence and toughness is a better and more necessary addition than a stretch 5.
Teague has had a far better career than McDermott I think. Not much contest there.

You've gotta be kidding me with this. Turner is genuinely one of the best defensive bigs in the NBA. The dude was a legitimate DPOY candidate a couple of years ago. Thompson is a fine role player and I am happy with the signing, but he isn't even in the same league as Myles Turner.

I'm starting to think the majority of this forum has never even watched Turner play.

Anyway, Turner was obviously never even really an option anyway with Hayward getting 4/120 from Charlotte, so this is a moot point.

The Charlotte thing is pretty much a done deal, right? Didn't waiving Batum clear enough room for Hayward where they wouldn't have to do a S&T?
