And it gets WORSE:

With @wojespn, Knicks' offer sheet to Tim Hardaway Jr. contains a 15% trade kicker, league sources told ESPN. 4th year is a player option.

Wasn't he originally on the Knicks and traded away to Atlanta?

You can always count in the Knicks to do something rash and stupid. Like clockwork.

Don't be, there's a silver lining: they won't be watching Derrick Rose dog it on defense any more.

Yes, correct.  Anything that keeps NYK ahead of BKN is fine by me.

Rudy Gay, if healthy, adds a lot to The Spurs.
Who else was going to give Hardaway JR that kind of cash. It reminds me of The Evan Turner deal....

He's a restricted free agent.  If they make a reasonable offer, Atlanta would just match it after waiting a couple days to keep the Knicks cap space tied up.

I know. That doesn't make signing THJ to this contract a good idea.

It's probably in our best interest to have Atlanta match in this case. As long as Carmelo and Porzingis are in NY, they're safe from falling behind Brooklyn. Atlanta will be a lot closer to Brooklyn now, though, and even the little bit of help that Hardaway would bring would help us out in that regard.

Unfortunately, that's not happening. THJ is going to be a Knick (again). On the bright side, KP may demand out soon rather than later lol.

Rudy Gay to the Spurs for 2/17 with a PO per Woj. Gotta say, the fit's a bit of a head-scratcher.

Not really, imo.  Gay, even if he loses at least some of his quickness/athleticism should still be an absolute cannon off the bench and always seems to play his best, on both ends, against the best.  If they could get Afflalo, too, they could very well beat the Warriors, imo, depending on what happens with Parker (I still don't understand how and why they could pass on Jawun Evans at the end of the first round, but whatever) and Ginobili, respectively, of course.

Fwiw, it would also be pretty funny to see the Spurs, as opposed to the Kings, get the most out of Tyreke Evans, Afflalo, and Gay.  San Antonio really isn't that far away from being able to win it all, imo, but yeah, they really need to get Afflalo, in addition to a couple of other pieces, to be able to so.
