How about picking up Luol Deng if the Lakers buy him out? Which they are talking about doing. He seems like a BS guy.

I don't know, he has some African in him, whatever that means.

What?

Repeating an ethnic slur once used by a former GM or owner. It's a real jack ass move by that poster.

Yeah, that's some ugly stuff there....

If anyone knows: I've read the DPE can only be used for a player on an expiring contract, how does that relate to a contract that includes a player option or a team option after this season?

For instance, Kosta Koufos has a player option after this season could he be traded for? If not, would he theoretically be able to renounce that player option to make it work? Just using him as an example.

Player/team options are not allowed. The player or team is allowed to decline said option prior to the Celtics trading for said player, though.

While it certainly is a crude statement, I do believe he is mocking the ATL GM that originally made the comment.

I do not believe the poster is saying that about Loul

Why isn't he allowed to mock what the ATL GM said?

yes it is. It’s not that serious. It’s a joke about GM, not Luol

repeating a slur ver batim is not mocking. If he had been called a n--er, and that was repeated, nobody would put up with that. Let's not make excuses.

Nikola Mirotic becomes available in another week.  Having a nice season off the bench for Chicago - 18 pts and 7 boards in 25 mins, including 46% from 3 pt range.

One trade off -> losing him hurts Chicago and potentially the Lakers pick. Then again, they are likely dealing him one way or another.

Mirotic makes $12.5 million.  It would be next to impossible to acquire him with the DPE.  (Not saying impossible, but it would require at least two additional trades and the NBA looking the other way.)

Also it would put the C’s into the luxury tax.

Chicago is still likely on the hook for the 12.5 m annual salary depending what is negotiated in the buyout. The 8.5 DPE is in addition on a prorated basis.

Other names to watch: Greg Monroe & Lou Williams if bought out

Also it would put the C’s into the luxury tax.
