KG absolutely deserves to be in the rafters.  He's one wrung behind the career Celtics greats like Russ, Bird, Hondo, Cooz, McHale, Tommy, and long timers like Parish and Cowens.

KG brought winning to Boston, as Bird and Russell did before him. If number 5 isn't in the banner once he retires, they should take the banner down for good.

Wyc Grousbeck said earlier in the year that he couldn't imagine giving KG's number to anybody else once he was finished, citing specifically the fact that he won DPOY the year we won banner 17 as the reason as to why his number would be retired.

I agree with pretty much everyone in this thread and would have given a +1 to every single one of these guys :D

KG definitely deserves to be in the rafter. Not only did he help us win the ring, he is so dedicated to this team and has given his everything to it. Putting his number is just a formality at this point.
