Kim Jong Il is more interesting and more relevant.

Sarah Palin matters more.

Whoever came up with the idea to bring back the McRib is more loved

I'm sure there's a bomb sniffing dog out there that would be a better choice despite the notable disadvantage of not being a person.

Lady Gaga has talent he doesn't have. I think she's also a nominee.

Those kids from Glee are more fun.

That BP guy had a notable year.

I just don't get it. Whose idea was this?

Hitler, Stalin (twice!), and Ayatollah Khomeini are all previous winners.

Well, I've never actually mentioned this here before, but I was Time's Person of the Year in 2006.  Honest.

So I figure if a guy like me can win it, so can anybody else.

Lol. As I was google searching that I remembered "was't there one with a mirror or something?

Maybe that was newsweek, but well played.

No, that's the one.  Looks good on a resume.

Well Stalin had a better year than Lebron.

And Hitler was totally the keystone in his axis threesome. No doubts there at all.

My question is - if Lebron does in fact win this....

What should he do?

He won't win.

Like him or not, he was a pretty relevant & newsmaking individual during 2010.  I can certainly understand why the nomination was made.  Big picture-wise, I just can't see an athlete winning the Person of the Year award unless he/she are doing some serious worthy off-the-field stuff.

If only you'd been in a magazine that people actually read, like People or the National Enquirer. Oh well, better luck next time.

he dominated the news for an extended period of time that's why hes nominated.. I think LeBrick is taking it the wrong way and thinks that this means people like him... well take a look back LeBrick this award is not about being liked!

What's the criteria that goes into the award? James may not have the talent of Lady Gaga, but he was paid close attention to from fans and media sources that speculated he would leave Cleveland beginning a long time ago. Every time he took the court in 2010, there was drama surrounding him. The tension leading up to the "Decision," however lame and scrutinized it was ultimately, was unparalleled. Look, I think there are more influential people in our world than LeBron, but the effect of his decision changed the complexion of the whole league. Not to mention the contracts he's tied down to and the fact that his face is plastered on just about everything these days. I am not saying LeBron should win, but I don't think his nomination is too ridiculous either.

I can understand the reasoning behind the nomination, (in a "celebrity" sense), but if he actually wins, (which I doubt), then there's something seriously wrong with the way they come up with their winners.

So I guess they went with Mark Zuckerburg.  I guess that's a far better choice
