If Danny projected a guy as a future star, I think he’d trade Smart / Hayward for him, regardless of next year.  It’s similar to when the Spurs traded a very good George Hill for Kawhi.
Definitely a similar situation, except poor George Hill was an unlucky Spur to actually miss a ring. I don't know if we'll be able to play it as riskyas the Spurs did given we don't have a HoF big 3 (as of now..)
