Romeo will be super fine scoring over 15p in 2 years.. Bradley had less talent than him..

Mavs have a good offense, I'm interested to see our defense. I adore seeing us forcing turnovers this year, hope to see a lot of those.

I beg to differ. AB was an explosive 2 guard coming out of college. He certainly might have a better NBA career than AB but talent wise I feel they are a wash or AB was more talented. We havent seen anything from Romeo yet other than 1 D-league game and a few seconds with the big club. No idea how his game will translate at this point.

My biggest concern with a Romeo type is the deer caught in the headlights. Ala James Young. I hope he develops more of a motor because he won't get much court time in the NBA.

ok fine

IMO, Bradley is not a very talented player. Productive "will-player" yes, but he didn't have "a joke" in his game, he wasn't a "skill-player".
We waited 5-6 years till AB became a shooter, before that he was just a (great) perimeter on-ball bulldog.
AB could never bring the ball up the court, his handle is and was always poor.
He also wasn't a good passer, except for some basic, rudimentary passes.
He is undersized, a PG sized non-ballhandler.

To conclude, he is an undersized mediocre shooter, with poor ballhandling and creation skills.
All that doesn't exactly scream talented to me.
I think that Romeo is more talented in all of these aspects.

Will he have a better career?
That is a different question, but their talent level is lopsided to me.

Doncic, last year's Rookie of the Year, is averaging 27.7 points, 10.8 rebounds, 9.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
Paul Pierce said a few days ago that Luka is a top 5 talent in the league right now. Forget talent, I would argue he might be a top 5 player already.

Imo, Kawhi is the only player who is unquestionably better than Luka right now. Probably Giannis as well? I'm not 100% positive because of his shooting limitations which hinder his effectiveness come playoff time.

Personally speaking, I'd rank Luka among LeBron, AD and Lillard (he's absolutely amazing this season averaging 33 points per game shooting close to 50-40-90 territory). Worst case scenario, 6th best player in the league right now.

Technically speaking, probably is off-ball awareness...maybe his shot form.

But mostly it's because he doesn't like him and wanted a different player in the draft. Since we didn't draft that player, it means Romeo is going to be trash.

Anyway, hoping for the best with Romeo. Even with Hayward out, his immediate contributions may not be wonderful since Green is likely in front of him in the rotation; but I like that he definitely seems to have some NBA-ready skills. We knew it was going to take some time - look at Time Lord this year compared to last.

Injuries
Romeo Langford (llness) probable

Okay listed as probable, but still are you kidding me?  This kid can't catch a break.

Misses summer league with a thumb injury.

Injured his groin in training camp.

Injured his knee in pre-season (after seeing only limited minutes in 2 games).

Gets sent to G-League, which could be a little embarrassing for a lottery pick, but kills it it his first game there (27 points, 6 blocks, 5 rebounds).

Hayward gets injured, opening up a roster spot for him on the main roster.

And then he gets sick?

The basketball gods have not been smiling on Romeo.

Romeo is as brittle as Mr. Glass....BUSTS is written all over him. Devonte Green is way ahead of him in the depth chart.
We don’t have a Devonte Green and 8 games seems a bit early to proclaim a 19 year old rookie a bust

I'm excited to watch him play against Smart-Brown (possibly the best combo in the league when it comes to defending the perimeter).

Dallas is a good rebounding team. Cs ply good initial defense but their rebounding has been an Achilles heel for them. Need to crash the boards as a team tonight otherwise Luka will kill the.

I think we'll shut him down tonight, just a feeling that we'll be going all out with Brown and Smart to guard him. I'll likely be available to watch the game tomorrow morning btw
