Not trying to bust him my man, but, BT, haven't you been saying the same thing about Tony at the beginning of the season for like the last three years? When does your confidence in him run out? For me it was when he injured himself on that dunk. I thought that whole 16 games were an aberration then and I think history has shown it was.

The guy is a fighter, an amazing athlete, a really nice guy who donates much of his time and energies to the community.

I'm not sure that anybody who has been involved in a brawl in college, had another major fight in Chicago, and who received death threats during last year's playoffs can be described as a "nice guy".

Tony is criticized by Celtics fans because he's the least cerebral player on the team, and one of the very worst in the entire NBA.  He continually makes stupid decisions, which in turn hurt the team.  He's a shooting guard who is well below average in terms of both shooting and dribbling.  Despite being talented defensively, he's often found biting on pump fakes, and can rarely be counted on in end-of-game situations.

I'll be glad when Tony is gone.  I know all the talk about "supporting him because he's a Celtic", but I'll gladly root for whoever else is filling his uniform next year (or hopefully, later this season.)

Co-sign. The thing that's difficult for me to understand is the continued touting of a guy who simply isn't smart enough on the floor - and God knows, we all know what a dumb basketball player is after Gerald Green - to help a competitive team.

But I do have to say, the "nice guy" stuff makes me chuckle out here in the Midwest, where Tony's consistent off-court problems are the stuff of crime blotter legend.

Like Roy, I look forward to the day when he's gone and this silly annual exercise in pro-TA hyperbole is over.

Rodney Rogers made his first public appearance last month at a Wake Forest football game since being paralyzed.

It would be nice if someone from the TA/Giddens/Walker triumvirate could put it together physically and mentally to nab that 10th spot in the rotation as the athletic defensive specialist.  It's really the only hole there is on the team.  For the most part Daniels can  plug holes as the point forward/wing defender off the bench, but slower veteran feet of the rest of the 2nd unit and tired starters open up vulnerabilities that one semi-athletic wing probably won't be able to cover up adequately.  Teams like Atlanta, New York, Charlotte, Chicago Golden State and Portland that like to field athletic, versatile small ball units will be a challenge for our 2nd unit + Ray or Paul.  If we can get good production from TA or Giddens or Walker, we might have more luck quenching the athletic enthusiasm of such teams with an infusion of energetic defensive versatility off the bench.
2016 CelticsBlog Draft: Chicago Bulls

Head Coach: Fred Hoiberg

Starters: Rubio, Danny Green, Durant, Markieff Morris, Capela
Bench: Sessions, Shumpert, G. Green, T. Booker, Frye
Deep Bench: CJ Watson, H. Thompson, P. Zipser, Papagiannis, Mejri

If the triumvirate (which by the way, should be the new name for TA / Giddens / Walker) dissapoints, we're going to see a lot of Scal at the 3 this year.
