Hey everyone.  I had a sabbatical from posting on the blog for a big chunk of time.  Can someone please explain why there is so much uproar about Will Solomon.  What is the story/inside joke behind it all?

Rondo, the Celtics lost this year.  They lost.

What makes the fact that they didn't even make it to the Finals is that they had  brilliantly acquired the 1 person who could have taken all of us fans to the promise land and within minutes moved him on to Sacramento.

I've said too much.  Anyone else have it in them to continue?

I cannot speak of Will -- leaves me a bit verklempt.

However, I do have an gnawing question that I am afraid speaks to my own naivete:  Why is Verajo referred to as 'Sideshow Bob'?  What have I missed in terms of pop-culture that leaves this reference so inexplicable to me.  Thank you to Rondoholic for giving me the courage to appear out of the loop.

Off-topic, but is this a "jewish" slang word or an official english word?

Anyway, Will Solomon is the glorious Rod of Light, he can make any team better.

Unfortunately, this would mean that a Rondo trade is the next shoe to drop...
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I was just in a convention where Danny Ainge was speaking.  Here is the transcript:

Ladies and gentlemen, thank you so much for visiting with me this evening. Now, I daresay some of you might have heard some of the more extravagant rumors about what the Celtics' plans are; I just thought you'd like to hear it from me. This is the face. [he held up a picture of Will Solomon] There's no great mystery. I'm a basketball man, ladies and gentlemen. As an basketball man, I hope that you'll forgive just good old fashioned plain-speaking. Let's talk about Will Solomn. Now to my mind, its an abomination to consider that any man, woman or child in this magnificent country of ours should have to look upon Will Solomon as a luxury. We're going to bring Will Solomon here. Will Solomon means championships, championships means banners. We're going to raise banners here where before it just simply was impossible. You're going to have more banners than you'll know what to do with. Banners will be coming right out of your ears, ma'am. Rings. Trophies. Awards, banners. These are just a few of the things we can offer you, and I assure you ladies and gentlemen, that if we do bring Will Solomon here, and I think there's a very good chance that we will, this basketball team of ours will not only survive, it will flourish.

Oy!

Itīs actually a german word, and I have a personal interest in german words that found their way into other languages (yes, that means I`m a dork).

TP for the info, now back to the most important topic of this off-season.

You are my hero -- I now understand!!   This is what I get for having never seen The Simpson's -- out of touch.  I have also never seen Family Guy or South Park (just clips)...  I'm a somewhat older guy and just haven't gotten into this genre.
