C's play great in GS

'15 BOS @ GS: -3 L
'16 BOS @ GS: +3 W
'17 BOS @ GS: +12 W
'18 BOS @ GS: -4 L
'19 BOS @ GS: +32 W

And another chance to post the greatest ESPN graphic of all time (from '16 when the C's snapped the Warriors 54 game home win streak):

Dude, that year was special for the Celtics. First team to inflict a home loss to the Warriors that late into the season in their quest of a 73-9 record. And then they beat Kobe Bryant's Lakers at Staples Center two days later, making sure he loses his last game against Boston for a fitting end.

But all in all, the Celtics seems to be a great owner of Oracle Arena.
imagine if we got past the cavs in game 7 last year

What if...

My favorite part of this game was that Kyrie, Hayward, Tatum and Brown each got 13-16 shots while nobody else on the team cracked 10. That's what I've wanted to see all season.  For weeks, I've been whining about shot distribution, the need for a hierarchy and the need for us to select our 3-4 guys and ride them.  Those are supposed to be our 4 offensive guys. It should look like that every night.

Are we the only visiting team with a winning record in Golden State during their reign?

Hard to understand how some don’t see how well we match up against them.

I really think we would put up a great fight against them in a series.

Idk the Celtics look like they're a rollercoaster.

They look like they about to lose in the first-round.
Then they look like they about to beat the Warriors in a seven-game series.

I just can't get my head with this team.

You don't have to look far.

Just look at the 3-point shooting.

Celts live and die by the 3 this season.

Against Houston, Celts were just 8-28 from 3pt land.
Celts lose big.

In this win over GSW, Celts went 14-34 from 3pt land.
GSW got beat badly at home.

The Celts are a flawed team.
Celts are lacking inside scoring and rebounding.
That's why this team is like a roller coaster.
It's as simple as if Celts shoot well from 3pt land, they usually win.

I  was under the impression you want the the top three or four at 17+ range for shots. But if you mean just that the main bulk of the shots go to the "right" top 4 I get that.

The point was that spreading the wealth between 8 guys can't work.  You need to pick 3 or 4 and ride them.  Historically champions usually only have 3 guys who take 10+ shots.  You run your offense through those guys and everyone else falls in line.  That lets your best players get into a proper rhythm.  Ideally it would make sense for our 3 guys to be Kyrie, Tatum, and a healthy Hayward... and if you have to include a 4th, Jaylen Brown is a logical choice.    Seeing those 4 guys take 13-16 shots tonight is what I want to see heading forward... but it probably will not happen, because there's no set hierarchy here.

Especially when rozier and morris want big contracts

Had to go to bed at halftime - glad the Cs were able to maintain the beat down!

On to Sac - let’s hope this is what gets us going so we can enter the playoffs on the highest high!

Brad should've set a hierarchy to begin the season.  Perhaps he is still too green in the nba to understand it. But this team would be much better if guys had defined roles

There is no reason someone like Hayward and brown should take less shots than morris and rozier on some nights

Or rozier should be running the second unit while Hayward stands in a corner.

The Celtics should change the team mascot for the rest of the year. Paint this at center court in the Garden where Lucky is now:.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A big quote from Irving, postgame:

Quote
...it was letting the guard down completely and just not thinking I'm at odds with everybody. It's not a competition in this locker room; it's a competition out there. That's the most important thing.

Talking with Brad was very helpful, talking with Danny was very helpful, and just expressing myself rather than keeping it all in.

I think we have some sensitive guys on this team. I think Smart and Morris are sensitive and they express themselves a big way. Then there's guys like Irving and Brown (and Hayward, maybe, too) who bottle things up. They have to learn to trust their teammates and let those frustrations out and own them, not put them on anyone else. Own it. It sounds like that's what Irving is trying to do now.

I'm thrilled we have a player in Kyrie Irving who is willing to only take 15 shots on a big stage. That's playing the right way and getting his teammates involved.

A road game in the most hostile environment in the NBA. I wonder how badly will this blowout of a game be  :'(

I’m going with about 33 points. ;)
