Taco is freakishly large even by basketball standards. He seems like he could be a useful player to have. If he goes un-drafted, I will be very surprised and I hope the Celtics give him a camp invite right after the draft. I would love to watch him in the Celtics summer league!

Tacko Fall, UCF

"Earning a combine invite after an intriguing display at the G League Elite Camp, Fall has been perhaps the most fascinating player to scout in this environment, noting the way his massive height and length can alter the floor on defense. He takes up a ridiculous amount of space and moves his feet surprisingly well in spite of it, and what his legs can’t cover for, his arms often can. In today’s NBA, Fall only projects as a situational role player at best, but it won’t be shocking to see a creative organization find a place for him, whether it’s a Boban Marjanovic-style 10-minute per game role, or simply subbing in late in games to protect the rim or defend an inbounds pass. There may not be a ton of value in actually drafting Fall, but now teams at least have a better feel for what he can do against this type of competition. This saga will continue into Summer League, at minimum, and it’s not out of the question he eventually ends up on a roster. Sometimes it’s the most unorthodox role players who find a way to hang around."

This is how I see Fall. He will be useful on an NBA roster.

I don't really see him as very useful in today's NBA.  He has to run around and guard people, not just clog the paint and block shots.  Where is Hasheem Thabeet by the way?  He seemed a lot more athletic than Fall.

Will he even be drafted? I think he may end up an undrafted FA. If so, bring him in to look at on the Sumner League team.

I doubt this organization has any use for him. He simply would never be able to get on the floor with Brad's switch everything defense.

I don't see how a team doesn't give him a chance (guaranteed contract). The size is out of this world and he even had the highest recorded max vertical at 12'5". The reservations are obvious, but if I were a gm and I knew we had a solid training and coaching system in place, I would absolutely use a 2nd round pick on him.

how many times have we seen these kind of players "fail" to make the nba

Bol and Gobert are rare exceptions

It wasn’t rare for tall stiffs to stick in the league when Bol played though.  Now it really doesn’t happen at all.

He has improved each and every year. Not a star or starter, but can do certain things that you can't teach a 7'6" player.

We should absolutely take a flyer on him. His phyiscal tools can make him a great situational role player (a 7'7 dude with 6 fouls available would be a great Giannis stifler in the playoffs for a few minutes every game).

Guy that big are glass towers, they have health problems and a fragility that plagues them throughout their lives.   We should pass on him.
