First team all defense has to make Smart a gem and a true Celtic warrior since his rookie year. The high ankle sprain that robbed him of lift and burst. His dislocated knee, his dislocated fingers.
Marcus dominated last year even with the refs rule changes.
Avery Bradley was a pickpocket,Marcus i liken to middle linebacker with the instincts of a panther
Marcus Smart is the longest tenured Celtic and the vocal leader right up there with vets Horford,Baynes and Hayward
I am so disappointed that Kyrie hasn't worked out so far -he had Horford,Marcus Morris,Baynes and Hayward
And Marcus playing all pro defense. .
A great bunch of vets a great GM
i'll never forget his  missed layups, bad shot selection lousy play in 4 straight games-i shoulda shot 30.

I spent a couple days watching defensive clips of Jaylen Brown Jayson Tatum and Smart. The play of Marcus has i think inspired both the young guys to become better defensive  players not just offensive oriented with token defense.
I played for Rollie Massimino a defensive oriented legend.
Marcus defense is as jaw dropping as Kyries offense and maybe rarer.

I hope we workout Matisse Thybulle great length and athleticism. He has defensive DNA.

It is exciting to imagine what the team could be like defensively over an entire season if Smart, Brown, and Tatum are all starting and Ainge finds a capable replacement for Morris / Baynes in the starting lineup.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I don’t see what you see with Tatum’s defence. In fact I think he took a step backwards
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

He did regress a bit. The stats back up the eye test. Overall, his stagnation this season has made me pump the breaks on him a bit. I think the talent is definitely there, but is the work ethic?
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

That’s the part that kills me. Praying he doesn’t turn into an Andrew Wiggins / Jeff Green type. Or if he does he does it after netting us AD
