Would you guys want to sign Ray to come back to Boston but as a shooting coach to help develop Marcus and James's shots?

I wouldn't push him out the door

But i highly doubt he would come back here

Also, the title seems a bit misleading (though probably not intentional). I thought maybe Ray IS coming back
I trust Danny Ainge

I think our current coaches are doing a very good job helping Marcus Smart with his shot. He is already worlds better at shooting than he was in college and his form is looking better every day.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

he's the best in the business at developing and sticking to a routine . . .. he'd no doubt be a good influence on youngsters.

he strikes me as a lone wolf type. not sure if he's the personality for coaching. . . but maybe so.

Rather have Mark Price, Chris Mullen, Reggie Miller come in and teach these guys. Their styles fit who we have right now better.

AB is the closes to how Allen shoots, but I think he's doing just fine on his own.

Do you want to sign him or hire him?

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

No, absolutely not.  He can go be the shooting coach for Lebron's kid.

Of course.  He's the epitome of professionalism and can be an outstanding mentor to young players.

Ya'll need to get over that Miami situation.  He made the best move.

Seriously... get over it.  We basically traded him a couple months before his free agency, but the deal fell through. This was after several years of Ainge trying to trade him.  He had lost his starting role.  The team was no longer a contender.  KG, Pierce and Doc were just months away from leaving the franchise as well.   He didn't get along with Rondo... and in retrospect we know what an overrated fraud Rondo was.   He goes to MIami, hits the greatest 3-point shot in NBA Finals history...  wins a title...

Get over it.  Ray's gold in my book.

I will give the detractors that Allen is a word that I can't write on Celticsblog, but......he is totally addicted to winning and is the best shooter of all time.  He stabbed us in the back because he wanted to keep winning and if he can't win, then he doesn't want to even play.  I do have some respect for that as a hyper competitive person myself.  The main problem I see with it is that I don't know if CBS has the personality to reign him in.  I could see him pouting because Stevens wasn't letting him have carte blanche over everything he wanted.
