Sullinger, Christmas and Joseph had really good games.
Nice win.
JaJuan was good on the boards, Melo had a nice game.
Etwaun has some work to do.

Agreed on Sully, Christmas, and Kris. JJJ wasn't there on the offensive end. Melo had a couple flashes but overall not a good game, and Moore was a chucking machine who thankfully made his last couple shots.

  • Ashy To Classy, baby.
J3 just needs to get that J down and do some squats.

I was impressed by Eh'twaun, despite the poor shooting %. He can get to the rim better than I thought.

Kris Joseph had some solid-good plays, but we'll see more of him in vegas when Xmas is playing for Houston.

And then there's Sullinger and his post-movage  :)
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

Missed the game. So how did Sully and Fab Melo look?
Only saw the first half, going to watch the second after work.

Sullinger looked pretty good on the boards and offensively, though he took a lazy three that I didn't like. He shoved Aldrich around in the paint multiple times on both sides of the ball. His movement on the P&R wasn't good, ended up behind the play useless the two times I saw him defend it.

Melo didn't do much in the first half, looked a bit tenative but his quickness was good on the defensive end.

Observations:
Melo-couldbe the next Marcus Camby. Great defensive footwork. Didnt really see too much from him on O.
Sullinger - Has a grown man game yet he's on 20 years old! Needs to tone up physically. Zach Randolph is who comes to mind. Has an inside and outside game.
Kris J. - Could really be OUR steal of the draft! Kid has skillz NOW! Love to see him get some burn this year at the backup 2 or 3.
Surprises:Keep an eye on X-Mas.

Good to see the kids today!

TP for the summary :)

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Sully is an absolute steal!!! His interview was pretty humble - can't wait for him to work out with KG!

"Second place means nothing in this city."

I love this kid!
I like Marcus Smart

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Johnson needs to learn how to move without the ball and get easy dunks and layups. It seems like he only took jump shots today.

Williams needs to stop jumping at everything and slow his roll.

Sullinger had an excellent game from what I saw.  Looked a little lost initially, as the C's guards were out of sorts and the bigs had to do a lot on their own in the high post, but acclimated quickly. As advertised - points in the post, from the line, and the perimeter, all with solid efficiency.  Great hands and good anticipation on the boards.  Made solid passes and set good screens.  Serviceable defensively but no rim protection.

Only caught a few minutes of Melo.  Again, as advertised.  Blocked shots, but always seemed out of position in the rebounding battles and was an afterthought offensively.

I'm excited that Sully had a really good game. I expect that from him for sure. I hope he can be a nice 18 minute guy off the bench this year. Anything more will be gravy.

Some box score numbers for what they're worth...

Christmas - 10 points, 10 rebounds and a +15.  Most minutes played by a Celtic at just under 30.

JJJ - 3 pts, 8 rebounds, only 5 shots.

Moore - 16 pts, 4 assists, +9

Sullinger - 20 pts 6 rebs, 50% from the floor, 7-7 from the line

PJIII - 16pts 8 rebs on 17 shots.

The rookies don't talk with KG, they wait patiently for him to talk to them.
