NYT today ranked each starting quarterback in the NFL.  No surprise...Mahomes 1st and our boy Brissett 30th.

We're tanking for an offensive tackle next draft!

Let Tankle begin.

I don't think they'll necessarily need to tank.  Just based on the roster, this is looking like a team that is going to play itself into a top 5 pick unless there is some serious overachieving.

Odds are the losing is just going to come naturally.

I agree 100%.

That?s what tank should be.  Not teams/coaches not trying to win, but a team without the talent to win.  I hope they work hard and are surprisingly competitive.  Then when it shakes out if they have a top 5 or top 3 pick, that will be at least one good outcome.

I think there is a difference between tanking and avoiding overpaying for veterans that you could end up stuck with.  The Patriots are restocking around young players, primarily building through the draft.  That is not tanking.  They have their young QB.  They do not need to get cute (tank) and try to lose to get a specific lower pick to continue to build through the draft.  And I don't think they are doing that.

Whether their first pick is 3rd or 13th, you can still build through the draft.  Build team depth through the draft, at least for another season.  Continue resigning the players you have that you like.  There will be a point where one key FA could make a difference but they are not nearly at that point now.

I'm picking the Bengals to win the SB, but admittedly it's hard to tell out in the NFC who makes it. Lot of variance IMO whereas the AFC is pretty top-heavy (KC, CIN, BAL, BUF) but filled with mostly mediocre/bad teams.

I'll say Bengals > Packers in the SB, I think the Packers figured some stuff out late last year and they were close to reaching the NFCCG. This year I see them making the SB over Detroit/SF.

I think Philly is gonna be a team that somewhat implodes this season despite high expectations and what's interesting is, if they let go of the coach does Belichick have an opportunity open up? Same with Dallas if they have a subpar year and let go of McCarthy.

Tough game to start the season.  Lot's of folks like the Bengals to go all the way.  Hope it's not too much of an embarrassing loss Sunday, and I hope no one is injured.

I've actually been seeing a lot of KC 3Peat stuff myself.  From a futures standpoint, I did lay some $ on both CIN (+1300 to win SB & +700 for AFC) & GB (+750 for NFC).

From a prediction standpoint, I think the NFC is a crapshoot. I think 5-6 teams have a shot. I think AFC will be one of KC, BAL, or CIN.  My concern with BUF is that they had their window and now its shut.

I'm just glad to have football back.

I think the 49ers are still the best bunch in the NFC, but they'll find ways to choke in the Final 4 or in the Superbowl. The Lions can be an interesting candidate to represent the Superbowl. Maybe the Cowboys might finally get it done after multiple years/decades of disappointment? Not an enticing list for the NFC.

Oooof, stuffed at midfield on 4th and 3. KC ball with good field.

Steve Spag's defensive playcalls has been stellar the past few seasons

Yeah this is already kind of feeling like last year's AFCCG where KC is just gonna essentially strangle the Ravens all-game and make things difficult. BAL started off well but now are somewhat reeling. Got lucky JuJu dropped that TD on the previous short field drive.
