Does anyone know what The Have Hawks can offer at this point? If the Hawks are out I'd have to say 80% sure Big Al is coming to Boston.

They can't offer much. They would need to trade someone (Millsap) if they want to resign Horford.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

These threads are echoing each other...guess we are all anxious to hear any sort of news today, but likely we have to wait until KD decides on July 8.

You're wrong in the context of "what they can offer".

This isn't about how much they can offer, it's about ability to sign Howard and Bazemore at all while Horford still has a cap hold.

They do need to make some trade though, but not as big as Millsap. Something like Splitter and misc should give enough cap space to fit Howard, Millsap, Bazemore, and give Horford whatever he wants.

That would be an impressive collection of bigs but somewhat weak at the wing and guard spots. I imagine they woyldhavetptrade Millsap eventually if they pulled this off.

It doesn't matter though. The decision to keep Horford or not doesn't change their outlook at the wings or the logjam with the bigs, unless they dump Splitter regardless of keeping Horford or not.

If you don't keep Horford, they'd have about $6 million left to offer another player... that's nothing in this market. If they let go of Horford and dump Splitter, then you have about $15 million to offer someone.

So value for value, they're better off keeping Horford for now.
