I mean they had already won the game when this happened with the ball up 3 and .9 left...  I definitely expected something different from this headline.

Me too.  The Youtube title says "to end the game" which is accurate.  It really wasn't executed well.  The ball glanced of his side into the middle of the court.  If one of the defenders was close, they might have been able to grab it and call a timeout.
