He's definitely been a disappointment in the playoffs. He just doesn't fit the way this team plays. His offense hasn't been near good enough to offset his horrendous defense. The guy just is slower than tortoise in a wheelchair.
He won't be back next season, though, I have no doubts of this. Even as cheaply as we could probably retain him, he'd just be wasting a roster spot.
Yeah, prioritize Baynes and bring him back, get back a healthy Theis, and maybe use a vet. min on another cheap big who could at least help in spurts during the regular season.
Monroe may still get a decent payday elsewhere, so I'm fine if he walks. We could keep him at 6M (at best) with the raise and it doesn't affect luxury tax, so if he accepts, I'm fine with keeping him as a third backup. Otherwise, he's getting paid close to 10M elsewhere I suppose.
