I would say they are at least top 5.  But it seems a little vague exactly how we are qualifying this?
Best two way duo?  Best scorers?  Best at 2 on 2?  I don't know how Perk was describing it.

Are we still talking about basketball?

I mean, this is pretty good company to be in. They definitely are one of the top duos and should be for years to come

Top-5, I agree. Top-3, nah there are other duos better. But still, that's extremely encouraging especially when you consider Jaylen is still just 24 and Tatum 22.

Not in talent and maybe not in overall today. But in PO I trust much more Brown than Middleton or Irving to be stable and impact the game both ways. Maybe even than George.
So if Tatum conitnue his ascension until  (and especially close better the games) we may very well have the 3rd or even 2d pair of players in ability to succeed. And the uncontestable first pair is lead by the 35 YO GOAT...

And if you look at our trio , if Kemba will arrive healthy in PO, Kemba is maybe more valuable than Schroeder or Holliday... Time will tell. But maybe one more year with less expectations than real potential.

Update: Hmm, I'm thinking Kyrie drops that duo to 6th. I really do not like his game. So Jaylen and Tatum are 4th or 5th best duo on my list.
It's safe to say that the vast majority of Celtics fans hate Kyrie's game. :P That being said, he's one of the most clutch players around the league. Plus, healthy KD is easily a better player than Tatum/Brown. It seems like KD is 100% healthy.

Is he?  I mean, yes he's famous for making a huge shot in the Finals.   But is he really one of the 'most clutch players around the league'?    A guy who consistently comes through in clutch time?  Is he one of the top players at that?

Is the case that Kyrie's game winning shot in the finals against the Warriors=

1. Good for Cavs
2. Bad for Kyrie's career

#2 because it created an even worse ego problem for Kyrie....along with toxic delusions of grandeur and lack of realism that may come to define his entire career...(all delivered in an I'm an artist who is above this sports stuff persona).

I mean...winning for an artist is effortless and beautiful....it doesn't involve sweat or work, right? (Let Lebron sweat...not me...of course).

Sorry back on topic:

Not yet are they # 3.  But soon they will be the #3 duo in the league....

I do not see Jokic & friend or Harden & friend as competitive here.
Imo, Jokic is a top 5 player in the NBA (worst case scenario, top 6). His BBIQ is out of this world!

I just don’t see the clutch thing with Kyrie.

And Perk is most likely correct. Brown and Tatum are now both top 10 scorers in the league. Incredible.

As of today (stats below are amateur)...

Tatum 7th in NBA ppg
Brown 9th combined - 53.2 ppg

As it is about wins...

Duo rankings:
Irving/Durant 55.3 PPG
Lillard/McCollum 54.4
Tatum/Brown 53.3
Harden/wood 50.3
Giannis/Middleton - 49
Jokic/Murray 47.9
Leonard/George - 47.8
James/Davis - 47

Zinger isn't playing so Doncic is out of this "duo" discussion for the moment.

The Celtic's "duo" is tied with the Laker's duo for best record which is what is used to determine the champion.

Finally, who shows for work is another meaningless category:

Tatum 346 minutes played 269 points scored
Brown 345 minutes played 263 points scored

Irving 230 minutes played 190 points scored
KD     204 minutes played 169 points scored

So, the Nets duo is "the best" they just don't show up for work and their team is 5-4.

The Nets should be the first seed in the east...if their guys play the games. There's a problem I'm glad the Celtics don't have.

"Hello? This is Coach Nash.  Is Kyrie there? Um...can you have him call me back...we have a game tonight..."

What a freaking disaster.

While I'm reveling about this very thing and thinking all these great thoughts about our guys , my wife walks by and says  " i see where Hayward is having tremendous scoring games ".   Kinda took the wind out of my sail for a moment,  so i said nada to her.  Debbie Downer ...LOL
