People here are saying that he is playing for his contract rather than his team, which, in essence, is saying he is a me-first player. I'd say that qualifies as ripping him.

But he IS playing for his contract, as he should, it would be a little naive to think otherwise. People always talk about how he plays with a chip on his shoulder...well he has a HUGE one this season. The landscape, for a PG to make BIG money, isn't looking that great this summer. He knows that Cleveland's first priority is retaining Lebron.

Cavs have lost 6 of 8. There terrible defense and recent losing dates back to before his return.

Vaguely calling guys out in the media is such passive aggressive nonsense.

Guys are going through the motions. Everyone, up and down the roster.

So, no one on the team has a clue regarding which guys (plural) he is talking about, but it’s all on IT?

From an offensive standpoint, it’s pretty clearly referring (at least mostly) to IT if you watch the games. IT is still playing like he’s the number one option in Boston, and there have been several questionable iso possessions that he’s had that have brought out questionable looks and body language from his teammates and coaches.

Now that’s offensively, of course. Defensively every single player up and down that roster deserves blame, which is primarily on Cleveland’s overall culture that doesn’t prioritize defense nor holds their guys accountable.

So ... CLE was struggling massively for many games, long before IT returned ... but somehow it is 'obvious' that it is his 'agenda' is what Lue is calling out and was to blame?

Thomas' shooting stone cold from the floor in this game wasn't the reason the Cavs gave up a zillion buckets anymore than his complete absence from the floor through most of this bad stretch has been.

Love, Smith & Wade all combined to shoot 4 of 21, hardly any better than Thomas.  And Wade and Smith generally looked atrocious and disinterested in this game.   There are plenty of candidates on that team for Lue to have been referring to.

The biggest reason the Raptors scored so prolifically was that they shot 42 threes in this game, making a hefty 18 of them (42.9%).  Only 5 of those threes were guarded by Thomas and only 1 of those he defended was made.  As a matter of fact, TOR converted on only that 1 shot out of 7 defended by Thomas in that game.  That doesn't mean Thomas played great defense.  But it indicates that he probably wasn't the problem in this game.

Korver was torched for 8 of 11 shots defended (including 2 of 2  on threes).
Wade gave up 5 of 8 shots defended (including 2 of 5  on threes).
Channing Frye was a sieve, yielding makes on all 5 shots he defended, including 4 of 4 on threes!
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

Wait. He's played 4 games so he already has an agenda?

Bro, perhaps you should read my post again. lol I literally put the blame for the defense on the entire team and overall culture, not just IT:

I'm specifically referring to IT's offensive play and shot selection. Ever since his first minutes back he's played like he's not missed a beat with his shot selection, regularly taking the early jumpers and pull-up shots that he excelled with in Boston where he was the number one option. And you could tell through his teammates' body language and facial expressions (especially with Lebron) that they weren't all that thrilled with IT's shot selection and decision-making, probably because (a) he's the "new kid on the block," (b) he didn't ease himself in at all offensively, and (c) they're not used to that type of player this season with Lebron and Love dominating the offensive opportunities.

So, yeah, when combining his recent struggles and these observations regarding his teammates with all of the talk surrounding his negative feelings about the trade and his upcoming contract status, I think it's a fairly safe deduction that he's referring to IT (at least primarily) with these comments (regardless of how dumb Lue's comment was in the first place).

More trouble and dissension brewing in The Land:

"With three wins in their past 10 games, the Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly upset with the pace LeBron James has them playing.

On Friday, Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com wrote some Cavaliers players "have grumbled that James has slowed the ball movement, holding on to the ball until he sees an 'assist' pass, rather than moving it quickly."

The Cavs have lost back-to-back games against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Toronto Raptors by a combined 62 points. James had just one assist in Thursday's 133-99 defeat to the Raptors at the Air Canada Centre.

Head coach Tyronn Lue said after that game the Cavs need to get "everyone on the same page, and if guys have agendas, we've got to get rid of our agendas and play the right way," per Vardon.

James noted he doesn't have an agenda: "I just like playing ball the right way, getting guys involved and winning the game also."

Despite leading the Central Division by 3.5 games, the Cavaliers have been inconsistent to start the 2017-18 NBA season. They won 13 straight games after a 5-7 start but have gone .500 in their last 16 to sit at 26-15 halfway through the campaign."

It could very well be Thomas but the cavs overall this season have looked lazy and uninterested in playing team ball and defense for sure.  I think Lue would have been better to slam whole team with a top to bottom statement instead of being vague.  I do think that the team will get shaken up sometime soon with lue gone and maybe a player or two traded.  On paper with age and salaries cavs not a good blend.  Of course worse they get more likely lebron leaving, IT signing elsewhere so that trade looking better every day

Pulling a Rondo?

Or maybe trying to get people to think he's better than Bird?

and people wonder why Kyrie jumped ship and wanted out? he saw the writing on the wall. Lebron is leaving after this year and he would be left with a poor defensive team full of ageing veterans that were signed to fit Lebrons style...

instead he gets to play on a young team with 2 promising young players and 2 veteran all-stars in hayward/horford and an actual coach

Exactly. It's like people forget there were locker room issues in Cleveland this year before Thomas even returned to the floor. This is something that has been going on since October.
I have to agree. Jumping to the conclusion that after just three games IT is the one person that Lue is talking about is unfair to IT and probably wrong. Isaiah hasn't even had time to acclimate himself to the team in game situations yet.

I can't believe that no one is discussing Thompson, Wade, Smith, or even Lebron.

Cavs realizing what it's like playing with a 5'9" guard without Marcus Smart covering for him on every play.
