It’s not surprising, Kyrie is pretty popular with his peers.

Except the ones he has actually played with.

"Reports say he ran unopposed and received a total of three affirmative votes. Kyrie himself and Durant have both confirmed to have voted for him. The third vote remains unknown."

Maybe the next VP should be an anti-vax advocate. Seriously though, I can't believe I backed this guy at one point lol.

So I know a lot of the C's have said nice things about Kyrie after he left, and you can see many of them warmly embracing him in Brooklyn,  but there were definitely rumors that Kyrie and Brown didn't get along, and I also saw Brown leaving the court without greeting Kyrie in Brooklyn (of course that could mean nothing), but based on what little I know about these guys in real life, it definitely makes sense that Kyrie and Brown would have butted heads and not gotten along due to their enlightened, philosophical differences...

But you ever leave an employer/department/team/relationship/neighborhood, and happy to be away from that one person you just couldn't stand, only for a year or so later that person to end up at your new employer/department/team/relationship/neighborhood too?  This is how Jalyen Brown feels right now probably lol.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Kyrie is the epitome of somebody who sounds Intelligent until you actually listen to the words coming out of his mouth.  The NBA is probably ecstatic about Kyrie becoming VP of the player's association, especially when it comes to future negotiating.  The player's association should have asked, "who would the NBA owners fear in an upcoming negotiation?" and vote for that person.  I.e. Lebron, even Chris Paul did a good job in the past.

Exactly. Kyrie is the Kanye West of the NBA - immensely gifted, but thinks he’s elevated above others and goes on incoherent rants which only he and others of a low IQ perceive as intelligent.

Since Kyrie is the "freshman" VP does that mean the other VPs can haze him? Could definitely see Jaylen making Kyrie carrying all the other VPs laptops around and forcing him to get coffee and doughnuts for all the meetings.

Ahhhhhh, karma!!!!

lol....

Celticsstrong will ALWAYS have a whipping boy...

Antoine Walker, Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen - you three have been relieved.

I don't even see ANY posts about Mark Blount around here anymore....

I think perhaps the ONLY thing that will turn some of you from the Dark Side back to The Light will be a championship this season...thankfully we DO have a shot at that.

"IF" there is any beef remaining between Kyrie and Jaylen I'd hope they put it aside for the sake of the players.

If not, then I'd suggest they settle their differences in the Boxing ring. Jaylen "MAY" have a slight advantage here because of his father's DNA

BUT - If Kyrie could EVER get Jaylen to the edge of the earth in such an epic confrontation then perhaps he could push him off?

Go figure. We play the Nets in the near future, and Kyrie is suddenly "out indefinitely" again.

The NBA players association is not some small time local union (I'm not dissing small unions, I actually belong to one), the actual negotiations are done by lawyers and labor relations specialists and not by the players. Kyrie being a VP will have no effect on future negotiations.

I never understood this notion about Kanye being an immensely gifted music genius. He is not. And the same goes for Kyrie. Is he really that good? He can handle the ball well, I give him that, but I just dont see him as some bball genius. He does not impact winning, one could argue his style of play is not high IQ and he's one of the most mercurial players ever. Which team has he changed for the better?

I must react.
He does impact winning, but it is felt more often on the opposite team. :)

Kanye is pretty universally seen as the most influential figure in hip hop post-2000. Kyrie isn't quite on that level ;D
