  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
I think the loss of Baynes really has hurt us in the being physical. I know we would have won at the Bucks with him. I can't wait to see him back on the Floor throwing that body around.  Looks like it will be another week and we will see how our team is then.

Baynes is going to descend from the rafters with a green cape on when he returns.

We definitely need him back, and I hope we start him instead of Morris and slide Al to 4.  It looks win/win to me.

Then we'd be able to keep Jaylen, Hayward & Morris together as a bench unit with probably Rozier & Theis too.

Or bench Smart/Morris for JB/Baynes, and try to cut Rozier out with a bench of Hayward, Smart, Morris & Theis.

With Baynes we can beat anyone.

Without him, we are a .500 team.

A bruising center who plays 15MPG really shouldn’t have that much impact on our team, but seemingly he does.

I mean Al is essentially by himself bigman-wise

we'll see if his presence aligns the stars for the C's and they go back to ripping off a long winning streak against all comers

Which is why we should be playing Williams.

Williams got torched on defence against Toronto a few times. I love the kid, but he struggles against well-ran offences at the moment.

We better hope Baynes can come back and stay healthy the rest of the way.

Part of the reason we've missed on buyout PF/C candidates like Kanter, Faried, etc. is supposedly because we don't have the minutes for them while other teams do (though we obviously could have really used them in the past few weeks). If Baynes is simply not 100% and is less than 75% the rest of the way then yikes.

I said this in another thread but it belongs here and not there:  He adds another big to help Al out for certain match ups, is a good screen setter, a good team defender and adds toughness.  He can also stretch the floor and pull out other bigs like Embiid out of the paint.  The Celtics have a defensive rating of 97.9 when Baynes is on the floor vs 106.2 when he's off.  They also have a record of 15-2 when Baynes plays 15 minutes and 22-21 when he plays zero to 14 minutes.  When he missed time at the turn of the year we went 7-7 and when he came back we won 6 in a row and went 8-1 before he went down again.

He’s obviously not the only reason for the wins but I really doubt it’s a complete coincidence that we win that much more with him playing.

Not sure how to easily look this up, but I'm pretty sure the C's record without Baynes is pretty mediocre.  Yes, Aron Baynes is the key to the C's playoff success, not Kyrie.

EDIT: See post just above this one for the stats.
