Knowing that the window was always closing.  Now we can watch the window start to open.

And watching players decline isn't as fun as watching them improve.

Deep down I always knew the team was slowly declining and their Championship chances were unrealistic in the past couple of years. I don't miss that. That being said I will miss Pierce and Garnett. Mostly Pierce because of his longevity on the team

Don't worry - no one will have to worry about the annoyance of Game 7s anytime soon...this Cs squad won't sniff the playoffs

Not unique to the Celtics, or the KG/PP/Doc squad, but certainly the most aggravating over 82 games a season.

Playing down to competition.

Blowing leads by playing too conservatively.

Not adapting the offense to newly improved parts/emerging players.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Specifically related to Pierce and KG?  There's nothing I don't miss.
I agree with this sentiment. I read Paul's presser saying that none of them wanted to be part of a rebuild.  I am still not convinced that tearing up the team is going to help my enjoyment...or theirs, either.

After reading through this thread, it makes me laugh that you think these problems will suddenly disappear.  Will there be no hero ball because Pierce is gone?  or will there be no hero.  Will there be no deficits to overcome?  or will there be no deficits that are overcome.  Will there be no injuries with Pierce and Garnett gone? (one can hope...)  Will there be no small ball?  (Who knows...but that was not the fault of KG, PP, or Doc.  That was the fault of the personnel assembled.  Without PP and KG, and without Doc as a coach, will the team never give up a lead again?

I guess we will see if this team is so much easier to watch.

I agree with this.

I had to laugh out loud when someone posted, "Losing to lottery teams"!

Hate to break it to folks, but, that's likely to still happen on occasion ...

Yeah, but now we're supposed to lose to lottery teams. Before, we had all the pieces necessary to beat lottery teams yet we still lost all too often.

Every good team losses to lotto teams in the NBA.
IDK, I just felt like we lost to more than we should have. I remember lots of people in this forum complaining... I was one of 'em!

Just like any other group of fans about their team when they lose to junk teams.

I don't miss the chatter about KG being "dirty" and "taking things too far".

Most people cant take it to KG's level on their best day.  Legend.

- Small ball
- The dreaded Pierce ISO
- Doc not integrating young players in his system.

you gotta be kidding me. KG is one of the best shooting big men ever.
