Yes A very big play - perhaps the biggest of the series. I guess it was his injury causing him to lay it up with his wrong hand but there were other problems Rondo was having in the 4th quarter. There were times I simply did not recognize Rondo the was he was playing out there. I was shaking my head on wondering why Doc kept using him when he was hurting the team in the 4th quarter. Perhaps we need to turn to Carlos Arroyo? Von Wafer?
The beatings will continue until morale improves

i did not see the replay (and don't want to). but i think chalmers (think it was him) did not give up on the play and chased rr and might have altered the shot a little. if it was bibby, rondo might have had it easier. but hey, we can sit here and talk all day about a ton of IFs.
all i want today from this team is effort. please DO NOT quit like the lakers. this team is capable of zoning out all the other stuff and play the game like their life depended on it. just do that and i will be happy, irrespective of the outcome. go Cs!

Rondo's layup ... he probably hits that shot 9 times out of 10.

Lebron's 3 ... he probably misses that shot (contested, shot clock winding down) about 9 times out of 10.

It was a 1 in a 100 combo.  It's bound to happen sometimes, it is just unfortunate it happened in such a critical situation.

This whole series has just been a play here or there that separates the two teams.

That's why -- regardless of what happens tonight -- I don't see why everyone is so down on next year.  There's probably going to be a lockout so we're looking at a partial season, which I think would be great for the C's.

Say there's a 40 game season, well the C's could go all out for 40 games to try and get HC advantage and still be fresh for the playoffs.

(and I bet no one is burned up thinking about that missed layup more than Rondo ... too bad he's not at 100% or I'd pick him for a monster game tonight.)

It's basketball.

Even if he wasn't hurt, he'd probably miss that layup.

He was going too fast and the ball just rimmed out.

Me too. I think he's just saving his legs because he's always pressuring, pushing the ball, and cutting hard through the lane. He has a huge vertical, unbelievable wingspan, and massive hands... that's Julius Erving right there.

While I agee, that play hurt and still does, it happens. Players miss layups. They miss free throws. They miss all kinds of shots. If it didn't happen near the end of the game it would have been just another missed shot. Kind of like the bunch of bunnies missed by the rest of the team.

How about the ridicoulus ones he made in the first half? when he shouldnt realisticly be playing at all?
KG not showing up?
Ray barely showing up?
Paul pierce missing the buzzer beater, bc the last play wasnt executed? (KG)
Glen davis missing in action..
shaq bringing nothing?
Lebron hitting toughest clutch shots of his career?
Bosh coming  up big when it mattered most?

...waah @ the missed layup

That crap was as close to being in without actually going through.  Basketball gods were not in our favor.

I was already out of my seat before it bounced back out.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

No, they definitely were not. Forget the lay up, what about the absolutely ridiculous 3s from James and Wade, which really has no business going in, 10% shots at best.

And in Red's house too, ugh.
