As I just said in the game thread, I think Tatum is showing me a bit more overall as a scorer and facilitator, particularly as he's seeing more traps and double teams.

But Brown has grown as a one-on-one scorer for sure and its helping keep us afloat.

Brown.

And frankly it’s not really close.

He is a much better athlete. Now his skill set is catching up.

Like I said in the game thread....I think right now it's Jaylen. His offensive game has exploded.

And it's made for some fun basketball. My hesitation is he's not facing double teams and traps at the same level as Jayson, so I don't know how you can judge them fairly when they're not facing the same defensive pressure. I would also like to see bench units with him as the only starter/primary scoring option fare a bit better.

It’s close all the way around. Both are shooting well from deep. Both are playing great D. Both are doing a much better job as facilitators. The biggest difference for me in picking Brown is that he’s playing within himself and consistently making the right play (more LBJ) as opposed to Tatum who is forcing things more often (Mamba-esque). I love our two all-stars though and am excited for them to hit their primes in the next 2-3 years.

It's tough. All the defence we've faced has been geared towards stopping Tatum. Doubling him, trapping him, facing the best opposition defender most of the time, etc. All the opposing coaches look to stop Tatum first.

In light of that, Brown has outplayed him so far this year. More efficient, scoring more, and playing better 1v1 defence. But Tatum is still averaging 24/8/4. He's passing better than Brown, rebounding better, shooting the 3 better and is targeted more.

I don't want to pick one, because we have both!

Tatum was mad at that Semi cheap foul call. Not Semi fault

But he really wanted to win tonight.

I like seeing this fire from Tatum as of late

Brown is a little more neutral.  Which is fine. But in the 2nd half Tatum came alive tonight. Jaylen did the heavy lifting in the 1st half plus 2nd last clutch shot of the game

Both were crucial

The first part of your post is essentially my initial point: with all of the attention on Tatum, Brown has been allowed to play one-on-one. Kudos to him for being elite at it, because he certainly wasn't this guy when he came into the league. But I do think it's fair to question what they're stats would be if roles were reversed. Which brings my to your most important point: both of these guys are on our team, so who cares?

Tatum. Fans get frustrated with him taking some bad shots, and without that, this isn't even a thread. He is the one player we have who can do everything. As he showed tonight, he can run the offense, something Jaylen can't do. He's a better rebounder, and every bit as good a defender.

But Brown is playing at an all-NBA level. He'd be the best player on a # of teams. But he's not going to shoot 60% from the field for very long. History shows us he'll come back to reality soon. Just enjoy the ride. We're going to be deadly on offense when Kemba gets back.

Agreed. Right now it’s like a pair of aces.

I love seeing the improvement by Brown, but I haven’t forgotten what Tatum did in the playoffs just a few months ago.

Brown.

And frankly it’s not really close.

He is a much better athlete. Now his skill set is catching up.

Well I think today's game illustrates that it is very close.  Tatum near triple-double with 12 assists.  Jaylen unconscious shooting from everywhere.  Tatum game-winner; Jaylen clutch 3.

I think there's merit to Jayson dealing with teams targeting him more. Jaylen did turn the ball over 6 times.   Jaylen's efficiency has been superstar level.  IF he keeps it up he's surpassed Jayson.  But last year I felt Jayson had taken the lead for good, and I think he's still got it in him to be the better player.  But I am ecstatic that for now it's unclear who's the best.
