Is anyone else torn on what series to go with?

NBA Live 2008 was a joke and that's why I switched. I was an EA guy up until the last two games when I bought 2K09 and 2K10. I'm seriously considering switching back when looking at this new EA game.

this will be a bigger decision than Lebron going to Miami

I got 2k for the last few years and have like it but was never addicted to it, I'm hoping one of the 2 is addictive...I'll wait to see what others say most likely

With Elite, you get the download code for NBA Jam, right?  That's something, at least.

Which one had Melo on the cover (Live games)...that one made me switch.

Now I am a 2k guy until they show me something uninspired. I'm looking for them to turn MyPlayer into a legit role playing experience this year. I'm seriously playing 2k10 my player mode right now.

I have yet to beat Red Dead, but I'm replaying 2k10 for the millionth time.

Tells you something.

I wish someone I know had 2k10 on xbox and ps3. I have it on 360, and borderline hate parts of it.

The game itself is great. But the shooting mechanics is HORRIBLE.
YES, props to them for giving EVERY player their own shot. BUT

THe shooting timing is SO unrealistic. If you don't believe me, create a character in the MyPlayer part and watch all the shots. Mostly Ray Allen. He has the quickest release in the game(Real life) yet they have his shot SO quick it's cheap looking. ALmost like a cat ODing on catnip.

If you practice in the gym and shoot around, the game wants you to flick the shot stick for the "perfect release". 90% of the time, the ball isn't cocked back yet. When you shoot the ball, you pull back and release and the peak of your jump. It drives me insane b/c the shot timing is never the same.

I hope 2k fixes that(Please say something to them MJ) otherwise I will take my friend's advice and jump ship..again
Can't stop, Rondo!

Hmm... I wonder if Elite has some type of Myplayer mode...

2K10 was junky with some of their gameplay too. Even the slightest bit of space would result in a made jumper on your face while trying to defend.

I think I am siding with EA sports this year.  I was not really a big fan of 2k this year.  I was pretty disappointed.  It felt slow to me.
do it

I'm getting both unless I hate the Elite 11 demo.

NBA Jam is a nice plus

i prefer elite tbh. the shot  stick to me in 2K makes it impossible for me to make any shots. i even  miss layups.  its frustrating

I'm surprised at the amount of people going Elite.

agreed

i am preordering 2k for sure, i had Live last year too it was barely decent.

one of the reasons i love 2K because you can actually play defense, whereas trying to D up on Live is crap

I'd say it's the exact opposite. I've been a 2k fan forever but I think Live 10 definitely eclipsed 2k10. I think the defense and ability to control your defender in Live is much better

It does, it just got introduced recently.  It's just essentially the same as 2k10's mode.
