Cavs (3-1) at Celtics (1-3) ECF Game 5 5/25/17

What is wrong with these Celtics players? Yeah, LeBron's a great player, and Kyrie and Love are pretty dang good, but these Celtics are just making so many terrible plays. Fumbling the ball, missing bunnies, terrible D. Why did it take Horford so long to rotate on that goaltending play? He should've been there sooner.

Well this is the first time the majority of these guys have been in this position. Whatever it is just not smart basketball.

Yeah, first time for a lot of them, but they've played two others series this postseason, and this is Game 5 of this one. They can't hang onto that excuse forever.

And it's disappointing that they came out so bad at the start.

Games like this (and series like this) make me wonder if it's worth paying any of the young guys who are not on an all-star trajectory—guys like KO and Smart. In a way, it doesn't matter how good this Celtics team is, what matters is that they're light years from being as good as CLE and GS.

So, given the fact that Boston needs a VAST talent upgrade, why pay anything beyond minimum to keep guys who aren't part of the answer? KO and Smart might make good bench guys on a contender, but I don't want to be paying $15M+ for bench players.
