Can you just clear something up for me?   We are allowed 15 roster spots right?  3 of them are reserves?  Rookies can be on IR all season if we want them to be?  Does that mean I can draft 18 players total if I get 3 rookies - as long as I'm under the cap?

Didn't realize this - so if I put Greg Monroe on Farm Reserve, I can draft 16 players, right?  But, if I draft 16 players, I pretty much have to put a rookie on the farm team, or make a trade.  And only rookies can be put on Farm Reserve.  Let me know if I've got any of this wrong.

Also, I know I can only "call up" a rookie once, then he's on the roster for good.  But can I start the season with a rookie on the active roster and then put him on the farm team later?

Yup, that's the scoop except you that you can't draft 16 players THEN trade someone.  The rookie would have to put on your Farm reserve prior to filling the 15th mandatory spot.  Basically, everyone will need to start declaring their Farm Reserve players as their rosters begin to fill up.

Also, I know I can only "call up" a rookie once, then he's on the roster for good.  But can I start the season with a rookie on the active roster and then put him on the farm team later? 

No.  It's a one shot deal. 

This all will be much easier next year when we do the Rookie Draft with the allotted picks.

Redz, sorry but now I'm confused.  On page 1 where you listed the rules, you stated:

INJURED is for Picks, Farm players farm players would be your drafted rookie players but that will not apply to year 1, or Players on IR (who have missed 5 consecutive NBA games). There is no in-season limit to the amount of players/picks on this portion of your roster.

Activating farm roster players is a one shot deal. Once you have activated a farm player he may not be placed back on the Farm Reserve. You can activate a Farm Player any day of the week, but you must either cut or legally place a player on IR to make room for him. You may not arbitrarily stash a player on this section of your roster.

I saw "farm players do not apply in year 1", and because of this, I didn't really bid hard on rookies, since I thought there was no farm in year 1.  Did I interpret this wrong?
