This is crap, I didn't even vote. How can I win the division and then have the the 5th seed? Blasphemy...

This thread should be called "The Mod love fest".

Yet half the mods missed the top spots.

One had the worst score.

At the very least I'm a 3 seed!? Is the voting from before now thrown out the window?

Ok, how can I win the division with not anyone close and be a 5th seed? Its dumb... if you're going to do this do it right. Division winners are top 3 seeds...

As I said then, that vote was to let players know where everyone thought they were.  This past weekend, teams could make moves.  Only two teams did.

This was the actual voting for the western division winners.

No offense, and you know I respect you, but who's fault is that?  It's not like this was run over a 24 hour time frame.

Well, as we all discussed, we agreed to set up a poll for greater input than just the 30 GMs who participated in the initial commentaries/press conferences. 38 people voted. It's not substantially more than the informal polls we conducted earlier, but it's still more.

And perhaps I shouldn't have listed the teams in order of average position. That might mislead people into thinking that those are official seedings. If a mod wants to edit my post, feel free.

I misunderstood, I thought this was Playoff seeding as I've been out of the loop.

Congrats Roy!

Ouch, obviously disappointed by my own showing, 4th in the Southwest. I knew I had two detractors in Houston and Portland, but I didn't guess how widely dismissed my team was. I still stand by my original prediction that each of my starters is going to play well above his draft position... I guess I'm just well ahead of the curve ;)

But I'm also surprised by:

1st: Mavericks Average Position: 2.13
2nd: Rockets Average Position: 2.76

Rockets win the preseason poll handily only to finish solidly in second this time. Not sure what happened here? Anyway, I'm looking forward to Edgar's reaction...

2nd: Utah Average Position: 2.84
3rd: Minnesota Average Position: 2.95

And, am I first to mention what appears to be the second biggest shift here - Minnesota came in second to Portland for 1st place votes the last time around, but this poll shows Timberwolves might be a love them or hate them squad?

Anyway, for the record count me among those that hardly believe OKC is the worst team in the Western Conference... oh, and I love Redz's draft chart. (TP)

I don't know much about the 1st one.

The 2nd one shows that alot of the posters the liked Portland best, probably liked Utah 2nd best.

There was no pre-season poll.

I won the southwest, Hobbs won the West. That's it.

It wouldn't be the first time I was wrong, but I believe I've got it correct - Dallas takes the Southwest. Seeding 4 thru 8 is yet to be decided which may be where your confusion lays?

Correct.

This decided the winners of the west divisions.

There will be another poll to decide the other 5 west teams.
