'Nova doesn't have one guy in DraftExpress' top 60. I don't even know if they have one player in the top 100... And they're stopping Buddy cold.

You live by the sword, you die by the sword. His stock rose because of his play in the tournament, it's gonna fall because of how ineffective he has been in this game.

Triboy,

Curry can get his shot off on anyone. He has an incredible handle and gets defenders off balanced easily. I'm wondering if you were joking about Curry? He's only the best player in a long time at creating his own shot.

Hield has now shown 4 times today that he has to push off to get space to shoot against good defenders.

Not sure why I need to debate with you any further after reading this part

Watch last nights game and tell me if you think this statement makes sense.  Watch vs Tony Allen and vs any other decent defender on him  . In general do you know how many picks/screens are set for him game after game?

Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, Paul Pierce are examples of guys able to create their own shots at a top level.  1 on 1 ISO.  Steph is not at the same level.   He constantly needs picks/screens to go off offensively.

this is not considered a bad thing or negative.  Hield also requires this type of help was the pt.

He is filling it up tonight

I knew he was going to be hounded like crazy.  Still another half left

But reality is Oklahoma has nobody else (NBA quality talent) to carry the load of help take the attention off Hield.  It is surprising they made it this far.

On the flipside, who does Villanova have? Draft Express doesn't have anyone on their team even getting drafted. So shouldn't the "potential # 1" pick be able to take advantage of Villanova?

You were premature with this thread and now instead of acknowledging it you made it worse by comparing Hield to Curry and Wade.

Triboy,

How many points did Curry have last night?

Everyone expects him to make every shot because that's the feeling you get when watching him but he does miss sometimes. One half of basketball does not define someone when they have shown consistently that they can break down any defender 1v1. Hield on the other hand consistently has shown he has to push off to get open when actual defenders are on him.

This game was what I meant when I said:

Quote
Saw a graphic that said 45% or so of his makes are from 3. Hope he has other facets as well. So far he has all threes and a putback. Want to see some drives and some separation from defenders, not just threes.

and

I love the three ball. I just said a big portion of his game is the three ball. If that shot isn't falling, I'd like to know that he has other avenues to score.

I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

If you don't want to debate with me it's no loss. I wasn't trying to debate you.

I was just stating the truth about Hield.

Alldaboston,

Great call there. You definitely get credit for questioning his inability to get separation before this game.

I was just stating the truth about Hield.

The truth that Curry is only the best shot creator in the league?

That is not the truth .

Villanova did a nice job against Hield.  He also missed some shots that he normally makes.  This one game doesn't chance his prospects as a pro.  I think he'll be an elite scorer at the next level.

Would love to see the Celtics get Hield.

Lillard is a better shot creator than Curry.  Check your glasses

Do you now what shot creation means? Able to excel in 1 on 1/iso basketball

Pure example is, 1 min left, everyone goes on one side of the court and you can either blow by your guy,  drive, stop and fadeaway etc.

If Curry was only the best, with 10 sec left, they could of moved everyone to one side of the court last night and let him beat AB 1 on 1.

You should retire your tag on Celticsblog for that one.

You know who is good pg that can create their own shots , Chris Paul. Drive stop , fadeaway jump shots.  Drive, hesitate, drive, finish at the basket.  Dribble slowly, stare down, stop, 3 pt shot.   Eddie20 get it?

You guys got the wrong idea as to what shot creating means

Steph Curry and Ray Allen for example are two good players that are/were masters at utilizing picks/screens to get their shot off.  They are not good 1 on 1/iso players

Jordan , Chris Paul, Paul Pierce, Lebron James, Durant, Olajuwon, Ewing for example on the other hand, players able to "create" their own shots
