Thanks, Rocky.  TP to you.

Give us your best scouting report. How is his defense, for starters?  Can he cover quicker players on switches?

If theis is cheap I welcome him back with open arms.  He can hit that three and provides defense as a four.

Also you guys are sleeping on Tacko Fall.  7’6 and has looked surprisingly good in summer league.  Our First rounder Williams loves going against him in practice.

I missed the summer league???

No, it starts on July 6th for the Celtics
I'm bitter.

With Colton, they couldn't move him to Europe fast enough, at least they are bringing this guy over FROM Europe.

Guys looks big, tough, and fairly mobile. All those dunks won't fly in the NBA, but he should be able to bang with some of the bigger guys in the league.

Do you have a scouting report on Poirier?

Yes, one of my friends send me that :

Years ago the seven footer were the main big men for every European team. Nowadays that the athleticism is raised and the undersized big men became viral, the seven footers are near to extinction.

But for big man Vincent Poirier that's not even close to the truth. The center out of France is having a solid rookie season so far with Baskonia. Even if he has good competition in front of him, Poirier showed his

coach Pedro Martinez that he can play an important role in this team.

With a terrific wingspan and amazing versatility around the hoop this big man provides a great back to basket player who can rebound and protect the rim quite well.

He oftens run the open floor pretty well and that's something for his size. He is working on his perimeter game too.

His biggest problem right now for sure is pick-n-roll defense and his lateral quickness. He is not able to chase his man down on the low block if he gets passed by him.

A seven footer with post moves, rebound and rim protecting skills. This man has a bright future in front of him!

So, he didn't want to sign with us in April to "sit the bench", even though we had a chance to do damage in the playoffs.  So, what happens if Timelord beats him out for playing time?  The only things I see him doing in the highlights (dunking and blocking shots) are things Timelord has mastered too.  So, with this guy be a locker room problem if that happens?  Or will nobody understand his French grumbling anyway?  ;)

Vincent Poirier international stats:

21.2 mpg ...
61.4% FG ...
62.8% FT ...
9.1 pts,
6.2 reb,
1.1 ast,
1.2 blk

34 games played

Not sure how this compares to his peers in that league.
I think that his Spanish League numbers.

He had better stats against better competition in the Euroleague:

I was being sarcastic as the post said how great Tacko Fall looked in the summer league.

Well ... with Horford, Baynes, Theis gobbling up majority of the mins

Poirier probably thought he wasn't going to be used much

Different story now

For example if Kanter runs into foul trouble quickly .... and the opposing center is having a field day/open things up under the basket....  having a center with size, length and mobility like Poirier as a backup, helps stop/slow down the bleeding
