How refs are killing Memphis in their Arena
Techical for breathing against Gasol
and Fouls that put LeBron in line because Pointdexter /Pondexter stares at him
If heat arent delivering (More due strong paint game by memphis)
Refs take control and keep them in the game....
Offensive
-
NBA where refs matter, I can't wait for Stern to leave.
-
I loved the part where d-wade tripped over his own feet and the referee quickly pointed at a random grizzlies player to call a foul on.
I'll just say also that I love Zbo. In rough games you want him on your side.
-
A great run by Memphis
up 12
inmediatly another invented foul on Gasol in Battier favors
>:(
funny funny funny
ball dont lie

WHAT A PASS AND A DUNK BY GAY!!!
Memphis bigs killing miami
IT WAS A BASKET was on time and refs annule
oh well
so this is how teams with paint game kills Miami
-
absolutely. Doc plays Miami to Miami's strength. You should counter Miami with bigs, not small ball.

I was thinking the exact same thing. The c's small ball team lacks the versatility needed to match up with Miami. Darko and or Wilcox need to be given more playing time. I don't think Sullinger should be getting regular minutes at this point. Finally, the team needs a more versatile big to pair with KG

I'd like to quote
You can't teach an old Doc new tricks. Smallball, smallball, smallball.
Can you trade coaches in the NBA? Gregg Popovich please!!

Its important to mention they have Gasol .... (darko rich man version)
but other than that, Part of the succes is that their young bigs are fast ( Jeff Green we need u)
and absolutly cover and love to play the paint ( randolph)
I dont think we have a version of him but KG can be ok ..lol
High low post game..
see thats why i loved when perkins was here... oh well that ship sailed but we need some of that
-
LeBron te invisible traveler.....
after a no call, a 3 by Battier
just pointing.... :-X
-
The other thing that is interesting watching this game is how big Rudy Gay is. He looks to be as big or bigger than LeBron. I know it may kill the teams chemistry, but if I were Danny I would consider trading Pierce for Gay. Memphis may do it. Pierce's contract can be voided next year. I think Gay has at least 3 more years on his contract
-
In other news Lebron doesnt like Gasol running next to him for some reason.
Gay is playing amazing today.
Randolph losing a lot of balls out there.. hope that doesnt hurt them
In other news version 2.0 MAN I dislike LeBron and Wade

Ellington WOW.... from all over the place

Nice High low Pass again..
Ray Allen Zero from 4
Gasol another doubtfull foul...

I'm a big Al guy myself. The quintessential lowpost scorer this team long coveted. Josh Smith low BBIQ scares me. When the offense begins to stalls, and he takes it upon himself to score hoisting up long jumpers. Floor Spacing would become a major problem.
-
Bad pass...Theres the Ray Allen celtics fans remember
-
Marrese Playing very good next to and ala Randolph

Great point... I like Jefferson too. He would be a definite upgrade; however, I like smiths athleticism and versatility. I believe those assets will win more game for the c's than his low basketball iq will lose. Plus Smith, Rondo, and kg would be dynamic defensively
-
nice lucky basket by Randolph
-
could sully be a Randolph clone, or is he less athletic and smaller than Randolph? (ftp://could sully be a Randolph clone, or is he less athletic and smaller than Randolph?)
-
Bayless send Ray Allen back to Boston :o
Nasty
NASTY
About Randolph hes better than Sully at ...mmm... everything and by a lot
-
There's our Ray! Getting his shot blocked on the break by a smaller player
-
to win in the NBA you need a league-recognized superstar. This alone is worth 5-10 points going in
-
Ah, poor Ray Allen. Getting swatted on a transition layup again.
I wonder if he'd just be better off pulling up from three or midrange for a jump shot instead of trying to take it to the basket. So bad at finishing contested layups nowadays.
-
Z-Bo has something like a 7 foot 5 wingspan. Massive length.
Other than that, physically, Randolph is pretty similar to Sully. That length is a big advantage though.
-
Ellington lookin good for the grizzlies
-
OOOUHHHHH GAY!!!
Amazing
not to mention Ellington... hes on FIYAAAA!!!!!
Grizzlies for Champs!!!
-
yeah that and years of experience over Sully, not to mention batter game shape. Other than that they are the same player
Someone send the tape of this game to Doc.

Yeah starting to see a few old man Ray plays creep in now. Enjoy that as the season goes on Miami.

right now
They make me forget i have to work tomorrow.. i am sooo in good mood
-
The Heat are getting smacked!!! And they have no excuse about guys learning the system, they are basically the same team as last year plus Judas.
-

Zbo 20/10 every night guy. Lets be realistic. Sullinger ceiling is probably DeJuan Blair.
-
good luck vrs Harden tomorrow Heat
-
Wade doesn't look as explosive physically in the games I have seen of him this season.
I wonder if he is just carrying an injury or something ... or, if it's something more permanent.
-
yup. Bosh is keeping Heat and Bron in most games.
And we all know that wont be enough for Heat to be champs
-

he supposedly just got back from a cold virus

midcourt shot lol

Ray getting outscored by his counterpart tonight, 25 to 5. Nice job Ray!

I'd love to see Memphis replace Shane Battier. I thought Battier was such a valuable backup wing for them. A key glue guy who they still haven't replaced.
Their current wings are too one-dimensional. Pondexter defense-only. Ellington offense only. Need a Battier type there. Someone who can lock down premier scorers and spread the floor for their bigs at the same time. A low-usage player who'll make sure Z-Bo, Gay and Gasol get their touches.
-
I like the foul/bonus couunter in the board

What, you mean Tony Allen doesn't hit enough threes to spread the floor? ;D
-
Refs just called Selby with a trip after he took a charge...

well... next game tonight... Lakers... still without Nash and without coach...will be fun

stern and his refs are in the pockets of the TV corporations and their advertisers ( big market) TV money contracts.
NBA is subject to the championship "MUST" be played between the two highest bidders and ratings makers.
stern wants Kobe and Lebron ....
why even play the season.,
Just flip a coin and crown one of them.
-
The refs tried to help the Bucks last night at the very end, with a horrible ft lane violation. There's probably a master schedule somewhere for preferred outcomes of every game.

How many Kobe and Lebron finals have we had, just off the top of your head?

How many blatantly corrupt calls have we seen?

Feels good man

Did not see the game, but good to see MIA lost.
Over the course of an 82 game season, they'll will have to deal with injuries, back-backs, and each opponent's best effort.
We'll see how they handle with it.
I'm not ready to concede to an LA-MIA finals. Not happening.
I like our Men in Green beating either of these two just fine.
-
I have seen d.wade make deliberate contact with a referee twice this season and get no consequences from it. Happened for the second time today against the grizz.
Didn't rondo get suspended for that?
-
Let us know a game where the refs don't try to help Miami.

Think how many fans the league would gain if John Q Public believed every team/player has a fair shot.
The perception may not be reality, but there is a reason for the perception. I don't care how much money the league has made since stern has been here, he's allowed the league to become a joke to many people who would probably enjoy watching the game if they felt the officiating wasn't so biased. If I didn't love this team, I wouldn't watch the NBA at all because it's so incompetent when it comes to making the right calls.
The loose ball foul they called on Houston last that gave 2 ft to Miami with under a minute to go is point and case of this argument. That call was made only because James was involved and it helped(didn't make) the Heat win the game. It's sad when a team basically has to have at least a 10 point cushion in crunch time when playing the heat; not because the heat are so great, but to make up for the ridiculous calls they'll get in the closing minutes.

Marrese Playing very good next to and ala Randolph
Just reading through this fascinating thread about how the EFS favor the My Hammy Cheat.
I assume you are talking about Mareese Spieghts, the former Gator and 76er. I am a big fan of his game and would love to trade Sullenger for him to win NOW.

Another reason why i love the NFL so much more than the NBA. The refs make the NBA a joke. If i didn't love the celtics so much i wouldn't even watch the nba.
-
Star calls are the worst. I like how LeBron has his own set of travelling rules and never goal tends.
-
Funny how lebron gets severe muscle cramps after 25 minutes of basketball.
Severe muscle cramps are a pretty common problem for steroid abusers.
What is the NBA's testing policy?
-

NBA game is much harder to officiate. The game is a lot faster compared to the NFL. In the NFL, there's stoppage after every play. Games can stretch for hours because of all the stoppage. When in totality there's about 13 minutes of action. 13 minutes total that a seven referee crew concrete on as opposed to 48 minutes of action three referees in NBA officiate.

That's how they justify all the dirty unsportsmanlike crap they pull. It's 100% a business to Stern so anything goes if it means significant monetary differences.
It's too bad because it's a really cool game. Guys dedicate their lives to it and fans invest everything in their team for the pure enjoyment. It's just a lot less fun when you don't know which team really should have won because not everybody is playing by the same set of rules (when that's the definition of a game).

Lakers "BIG " TV contract got Mike Brown fired... TV is paying millions and they want "Watchers" lots of "happy" watchers who will tune in and watch the advertisements and this inturn keeps the "mega dolars" flowing in. Lakers new TV contact is one of the BIGGEST in history and the pressure is on to keep the fans "TUNED IN"
Rators and Bobcats aren't making alot of money for the league . NBA needs "hero's" , you can't put the fans's hero on the bench ( remember they ar the ones tuning in) and the Lakers have ALOT of these and a big promise to the TV people to uphold .
Bad ratings ( no James or Kobe) means less money for the NBA and in turn affects MrSSterns back pocket and most likey those of the refs., or at least they ability to keep their job in some hidden fashion.
Refs ...should be PENALILZED for making bad calls....after a certain number of bad calls ( reviewed by a board of coachs)
There is no CHECKS and Balances to make sure Stern and his Refs are on the UP and UP....we know they aren't. Well, unless you a a 10 year old and can't tell, long as LBJ is in the game and cruzing along scoring 40 points a game. ALot of ignorant fans or fans whith their heads in the sand. What ever , something an't adding up.
Just like politicians refs don't want term limits .

If the League/Refs is/are fixed, than it was fixed for all of Boston's titles. You see you can't have it both ways. It can't just be fixed against you and not for you in the years Boston wins. That is why all of this talk is always so silly.
-

Exactly. Miami gets a lot of calls, but frankly, Lebron in particular earns a lot of calls. He is THAT freakishly athletic and good. Yeah, he gets away with fouls sometimes, and gets calls when he wasn't fouled. But that is because there are so many times that he legitimately earned the calls by really beating his man to the spot, or by getting contact when he beat his man to the basket.
It is not a fix, it is human error leading to guys making essentially informed guesses. Pierce has also benefited from this whole career, as has KG, who refs just assume is always in the right spot.

So, people and proffesions cant chage through time??
or marketing isnt a good motivator of moving the balance a little
Compare 1980 and 2012 is a little reach imho

What a delight to See Kevin Seraphin against Miami today
reminds me Al Jefferson
Soft Moves and good range destroying Miami defense inside the paint
Still a couple of calls Miami sided but nothing too serious , hope Washington Hang there
Go Washington... today
