My biggest concern, aside from missing a very good player, is the time it will take to reintegrate Hayward into the team.

Man, this sucks.

At least it's a matter of reintegration into a team with good chemistry!

While the injury is a concern and he would be better without it, this could be done and dusted inside a month. I doubt he has the issues like after his ankle. He is smart and will be back into it in no time. He is going to have a great season, as are the Celtics.

Yes it different this team because he has played with these guys for a year now unlike then when he just had a few preseason games.

Anyway it seem Stevens said they will see if surgery is needed but if it does it kight shorten the timeline. It will certainly give us a few more losses we shouldnt have, and it certainly impacts hayward's all-star appearance, but at least its not as bad as last time.

The good news is its his left hand, so that should make it easier to shake off any rust when he comes back. Much different then having to regain strength in an ankle. And the chemistry was so good I can't imagine him being gone cases serious long term problems in that regard.

Hope to see him back around Christmas, barring any complications.  Long season... plenty of time to let him heal up and get him back in the flow.

He will still be able to practice after a few weeks.  It's basically like a bad sprained ankle when it is off hand.

Brad Stevens knows more about the injury than we do, and although he said there's no timeline until Hayward meets with the specialist, Brad expects him to be back in a few weeks to a month.

That’s not what he said in the post-game. He punted to the doc evaluation tomorrow.

Who said that?

Nobody.

We don’t have a timetable yet, but this injury is usually a month or two.  Sucks but not the end of the world.

On CSN postgame, he clearly said its not nearly as bad as the injury 2 years ago, he will be back in a couple of weeks or a month

he did say it. even said surgery could speed up the time table.

edit: not "expect" but said that type of timetable.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
