I didn't want to make another thread but I also saw that Lavoy Allen got $6 million over two, more or less, as an extension. After seeing him in the playoffs against us play like a $9 million man, you've got to think the Sixers fans are happy about this one.

I think Asik's contract won't look so spectacularly exorbadant if he improves even a little. He really is a top tier (not elite, on Bogut or Deight Howard's level) defender right now, still before his prime, and should continue to improve.

The bigger question to me is where Moray is going here. He's got a lot of talent but no real superstars, and he's shopping Scola and Lowry.

The Rockets have been shown to be patient, content to middle on the fringes of the playoffs since Tmac fell off and Yao retired, but he's just got to be trying to make a big move.

Al Jefferson? Paul Milsap? The Dwight Howard train is gone, but one borderline all-star scoring big is really needed here to even compete for a playoff spot.

This loophole is going to kill teams. Broussard just posted an article explaining how if someone offers Lin a deal that's backloaded to include $10 million+ in the last two years (of 4), they probably can't match because they'll pretty much be at the luxury tax after four players. So if a team goes $5, $5, $10, $10, or something, they'd get Lin for 4 years, $30 million. Whether or not he's worth it is a different question, but I would imagine a lot of teams taking advantage of it.

Yeah I just got done reading Hollinger's article on the same topic. RFAs are hardly safe now for cap paying teams.
