Rose is the most overrated MVP in the history of the league.  Fine player, but not deserving of the hype he received while healthy.   Trading Rondo for Rose would be like dumping one mildly injured overrated player for one severely injured overrated player.

Rondo is not overrated. For a guy who likes value you should love Rondo. His deal is an absolute steal and he's a general out there.

The mental aspect of the game is underrated.

Not only would I not trade Rondo and a one for Rose. I wouldn't trade Rondo for Rose and a one. Not unless it was a one this year and was a high lotto pick. In that case I'd consider. But I sure as heck wouldn't do it for a pick projecting to be 12th or something

Wow, you guys really value Rondo over an MVP??  Yes, it's a risk that Rose has had two knee surgeries, but Rondo has had one.  So the Bulls would be assuming a risk too.

I thought most people on this board would say "The Bulls would never do that!"  Guess I was wrong.

As for Rondo "doing everything else better" I disagree.  His matador defense, no matter how many steals he may get, is laughable.  The only time he plays tough defense is when he gets matched up with LeBron and can put on a show.

Gimme a guy who plays defense all the time, is an elite scorer, and is still a young (younger than Rondo) MVP.

Ok then, how about a straight-up swap, Rondo for Rose?  You guys would still say no?
mmmm no
no on the first and no on the second
every injury rose gets it knocks his game down even more than a rondo, duncan, kobe type player
rose's game is largely based on athleticism and that isn't a knock, an amazing athlete who at his small stature can jump out of building, dribble with blazing speed etc etc
rondo even though he is an amazing athlete relies just as much on his knowledge as his body
no did i already say that?

I wouldn't do it if Rose didn't have his injuries so I definitely wouldn't now! When I say "it" I mean RR for Rose straight up, you adding a #1 made it even worse!

I can't wait for RR to be fully healthy and work himself into game shape. I think he needs to have a parade with this hook where he raps about him!

I swear, we should be able to take away Tommy Points around here.

Some of these threads makes me cringe.  SMH.

If the bulls management presented this to Ainge, Danny would offer them Bogans and Brooks instead and laugh them out of the Cs front office;
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

Nope, not even straight up.  There's just too much risk with Rose's contract.

  Rondo's one of the best defensive point guards in the league. Pretty much any stat you can find that's related to how well players defend will favor Rondo over Rose. The coaches (who vote for all-defense teams) think so. So do the GMs that participate in those preseason surveys, so do the people who vote for DPOY. Aside from all that it's probably close to a tossup.

The problem is that Rose is still owed about $60 million over the next three years.  If he doesn't work out, you've wasted 1/3 of your cap on a guy who won't produce.
