when he is back to being the guy he was his last year in Utah.

Last year he was out with a broken leg playing for us.   Two years ago, right?

How did Kemba score 43? Isnt that the 3rd PG to recently score 40+ on our stout defense? I dont get it.

He is totally in a zone right now and didn't miss anything. He is also just too fast for anyone on our team. Surprisingly, Smart played some pretty good defense on him but it didn't matter.

Every game we have someone on the other team that just torches us. We just aren't that good. We are the 7 seed right now. Our effort last night was good. I liked the new rotations but our defense is not good if we can't stop a player from scoring 21 in the 4th quarter alone. I thought maybe they should have played Jaylen a little more at least defensively on Kemba to make him deal with more length but even that probably wouldn't have mattered. And because we had to spend so much attention and energy on Kemba, they were getting offensive rebounds and 2nd and 3rd opportunities on misses. And when 55 year old Tony Parker can torch us with two consecutive jumpers late in the 4th - it's over.

Even other guys, like Ingles and TJ Warren have lit us up. Very weird

Haven't looked at the stats but it sounds like our defense may be regressing; maybe guys are getting discouraged by the losses.  I also like the idea of using Brown more flexibly on defense.

Yeah, decent role players but ... blah.  Still confident we'll turn it around but odd trend recently with our elite defense.

Not to make excuses. We’ve played well below expectations.

But I can’t help but wonder if the new rules on defense are hurting us more than other teams. Can’t come up with a specific reason why that would be the case. Wonder if someone else can explain.
