Rozier fan here...checking in....I hate turnovers...maybe that's why.

Stop worrying about shots and who shoots.  They're adults, let them work it out.

He was clearly hampered in the playoffs.

The knee issue could rob him of his lateral quickness on offense, which is how he gets himself open off the dribble with all those hesitation moves. That would be a major downgrade in the strongest part of his game. It would probably also hurt him defensively, where he's already average at best.

We've all seen this story before with other players. Arthritic knees don't just get better. I would be surprised if he ever returns to All-Star level on a consistent basis, or plays 70+ games again. It's too bad because he was incredibly durable until now.

Shocker.

The Celtics have become so bad re: injuries that they've got key players banged up before the season even begins.

poor dude ,  i know he is rich ,  but being strapped with arthritis in your knees at his age gonna suck ...they will hurt more and more every month .  Those are the knees we get at 60 years of age and have replacements for missing cartilage  .  My dad had one replaced,  he wasn't play n nba eithr

I believe Kanter has issues that are chronic or close to becoming that way and he is most likely on his way out .

pain meds only mask the problem .

dead babies would help ...or stop playing basketball

this is not good

Lets face it... the Celtics run ended late September.  He has had close to 2 months to rest/practice

And if his knees are still sore/in pain...

We need the Suns medical staff or something. Players come to Boston and break down

SMH.  Why didn’t he get surgery?

That was my question. Plus all this head scratching about what is wrong ? Seems simple enough to scan the knee and find out.
Apparently it might be the surgeries and general wear and tear that has caused this, unless like KG, they are hiding the problem.
If it is arthritis, is there really anything concrete, like surgery, that will repair his knee ?

These responses that we have depth at PG and will be ok misses the point. Walker was supposed to be one of our big guns to contribute to a title team. He was acquired for his dynamic scoring ability, especially in the 4th quarter when we need tough points to win big games. The bad knee hindered him in this year's playoffs and that was after several weeks off. Wasted money, again. We sign 'em, they get hurt. The Bias curse still alive and well.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Definitely don’t rush him back. We’re going to need him when the playoffs start in mid January  ;)

I say give Kemba as much rest as he needs.

Allow more opportunities for Fast-PP and Waters to earn time.

Also more time for Nesmith since it would mean Smart spends more minutes at the 1.
Happy to see that the nickname Fast PP is gaining traction on this forum

And pre-Boston Hayward missed more than 10 games in a season only once in 7 years in Utah. The Cs are just a magnet for injuries.

Knee surgery can *accelerate* arthritis, especially for a meniscal tear which was his first procedure. He's been scoped twice and had the Synvisc injection, all of which points to something degenerative. Further surgery would probably not help and could make things worse.
