How hilarious would it be if Horford joined Kyrie in Brooklyn and then they proceeded to win 60 games without the Celtic kids dragging them down.  It would destroy narratives.

Not my "narrative". I always knew it was Rozier/Brown who were the biggest culprits, followed by Brad and his incompetence. The obnoxious, ignorant morons in the fans base who couldn't stand Kyrie finished the job and ran him out of town, and in the process have made every player worth his salt want nothing to do with this city or team.

Horford joining Kyrie in Brooklyn would just prove that point emphatically.

Clippers/Bucks/Nets are the three teams floating around at the moment.

Woj talking about how the Nets might not want Kyrie as a "solo act" cracks me up. He might end up in LA after all if he cannot arrange for KD or someone else in BKN.

Marc Stein is saying the word is that Al has a 4 year 100 million dollar offer on the table and that's why he walked away from the negotiations with the Celtics.

https://twitter.com/TheSteinLine/status/1141206130359767041

Never thought Al would be about money.  He got paid a lot in his career.  If it's to play for a true contender then good for him.  Get paid and try to win a championship.  If it's for a team that would be on the same level as the C's then this is surprising that he'd leave because of money.  Also, if I were the C's I'd be filing some tampering charges soon after he signed this deal somewhere.  The whole Kyrie to Brooklyn thing as well.  Definitely some tampering going on.
Championships are overrated with NBA players.  Fans like to think they matter most - they don't.   It's usually always about the money and whenever you have free agency, if an attractive team offers more money/security you do it.  The media and fans like to embrace the concept of 'hometown discount' which is total B.S.

As far as tampering, of course there's tampering.  Every team/player/agent does it - especially with texting available.  The deal for Al is done.

That all said Al is in fact going to Brooklyn with Kyrie, that would be a shock and a major gut punch to Ainge/Wyc/Celtics fans etc.

I was thinking about the mystery team that offered Horford a 4 year deal, and honestly, Brooklyn DOES come to mind

Think about it: It's not the Lakers, because they have Davis and Kuzma. The Clippers are probably going to wait first to see what happens with Kawhi. The Knicks are probably going to wait and see what happens with Durant. It could be other teams with max cap space like Dallas, Sacramento, Atlanta and Indiana.

But I REALLY suspect Brooklyn. It's quite possible Kyrie and Horford have been talking, especially if Durant plans on staying in GSW. Kyrie moves on to recruit another player and knows Horford from the last 2 years in Boston. Brooklyn needs a power forward.

What a kick in the nuts that would be!!

Anyone thinking maybe Celtics are lowballing AH cause they want him to walk away and we can get a max player (or anyone)?

That's literally what we're doing right now.

If HOU/Mavs are indeed the teams interested, I would like to see if a Capela swap for Horford would work.

Seeing him in Laker gold playing alongside AD & Lebron would cause me to vomit.

I'd be surprised if it was the Mavs...their timeline seems to be a couple of years from now. I would have thought that the Lakers or Clips would be much more likely. Especially Lakers if they can't free up cap space, they can still afford 4y/100m.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

So if the lakers don't have the cap room to give him a good contract, is Al going to take a Laker discount?  I doubt it.

The Lakers can give Al the 4 years, $100 million if they want — they’ve got that kind of cap room, just not max cap room.  I’m not sure how a Horford, Davis, Kuzma, LeBron, mystery guard lineup is supposed to work, personally, but they could make the money work if they’re so inclined.
