My guess is that this is a bit of an aberration, but:

Quote
Steph Curry when defended by Marcus Smart in Game 3: 0 PTS, 0-4 FG, 0-1 3PT, 2 TO, 4:57 matchup time. Curry vs everyone else: 38 PTS, 15-23 FG, 7-12 3PT, 1 TO, 8:00 matchup time.

This says Curry had 27 FGAs with 38 points but he had 22 FGAs with 31 points.  I like the stat and was gonna text it to someone but doesn’t add up.

Good catch.  Blame Forsberg, haha.

it also doesn't seem accurate I was remember a few times Curry blew by Smart and scored.

True.  One factor is that GSW doesn’t seem to be bothering JBs handle in the lane like Miami did.  I’m guessing this is more about how the Heat went after the ball aggressively with 2/3 guys and GSW had been less focused on the ball when JBs dribbling. It could also be JB being wiser about the frequency of his dribble in the lane.

The C's can definitely put up points on this team. Unfortunately Game 2 was pretty much over late in the 3rd and the C's finished with just 88 points, but they put up 120 in Game 1 and 116 last night. Literally if they just limit the turnovers, they can dominate the Warriors even if some of their guys do well. Golden State's defense is really not good. There's a reason a handful of their guys on the bench don't play as much even though a few guys like Poole can put up points.

Klay looks cashed on the defensive end, and Curry can be decent but he's not a great defender either. Wiggins and Draymond are solid but that's about it, maybe Iggy but he barely plays nowadays too

he's getting my vote so far

Same. He's been a force on both ends so far this series. Tatum isn't too far behind, if he has like 1 of those "vintage" games this series in a winning effort that can push him over the top if the C's go on to win the series

Neck and neck.

Brown: 22.7 points / 7.3 rebounds / 4.3 assists / 2.7 turnovers / .509 eFG%
Tatum: 22.0 points / 5.7 rebounds / 8.3 assists / 2.7 turnovers / .424 eFG%

I think it's JB so far, but there's a lot of basketball to be played.

I loved that possession that JB locked down Curry. Some didn't think he had it in him.

It's a close competition. I still think we see an offensive explosion from Tatum coming.
He's always been an excellent isolation defender.

I have FMVP pretty much a tie between the two Jays, leaning towards Brown. I think Tatum will win it though

Sad that we have to actually anticipate this, but very curious as to who the refs are tomorrow.

Unfortunately I think we're getting Zarba and/or Brothers at least one more time this series, but will either or both go tomorrow? I'd actually be more comfortable if say, one guy was with Davis and the other with Foster later this series. But if they're both together again then YIKES

Abso-freakin-lutely.

I find it difficult to believe that just a few months ago so many here, and nationwide, was saying Brown had to be traded because the Jays couldn't co-exist. How stupid does that notion seem right about now.

I’ve got Jaylen in the lead for FMVP at the moment, but I could easily foresee JT dropping 40 in a win and taking the lead.
