Malik Monk and/or Rudy Gay are two guys I'd like to see us take a run at.

Monk would be a nice reclamation project. Improved his three point shooting a lot. I would be thrilled with Gay to beef up our bench.

If the reports are true that Smart is staying because they missed on Ball, I wonder if Celtics go after Patty Mills and function like the Bulls did with Michael Jordan/Scottie Pippen.

Our wings are the main ball handlers, we use Horford’s passing in the post like Chicago did with Longley and Mills operates like Steve Kerr.
5' 10" former point guard

Career highlight: 1973-74 championship, Boston Celtics

Career lowlight: traded for a washing machine

I wonder where Drummond is headed to. Should we be interested in him, considering the Cs were one of the teams he considered before signing with the Lakers. Is he even affordable for the Cs?

He won't come for the MLE, neither for one year. The player who will come will be a 1Y PG rent and maybe à PF. Prob old guys like me. I would bet on Mills and Milsap. I hope our future PG don t take all minutes on Pritchard with still Smart. I am not very high on Pritchard but he needs to developp as he may be one of the few players still here 2022-2023.

Not affordable for us, barring an inexplicable sign and trade. Also doesn't really make sense with Horford and Timelord. Not sure I want Drummond getting minutes ahead of either of them. He's a long way off the player he was in 2017-18 when he displayed some passing and his free throw % jumped 22%

Free agent center Richaun Holmes has agreed to a four-year deal worth as much as $55 million to return to the Sacramento Kings, his agency Par-Lay Sports & Entertainment (@parlay_se) tells @TheAthletic @Stadium. Deal includes player option and trade kicker.
What does this mean for the TT deal? The Kings have signed Holmes and Len today for their big man spots.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe one of them gets moved in the 3 way deal? Or is something like TT just ends up in Atlanta and we get John Collins possible?

We aren’t getting John Collins unless we send out about $20 million more in salary, most of which would have to go to a team other than Atlanta.  That said, it’s not impossible, so do you want to dream:

Atlanta gets Marcus Smart, who agrees to an extension as part of the deal.

Celtics get John Collins at about $20 million in year one (this is $8 million less than his asking price, so we’re getting a bargain, and this is part of why it’s a dream scenario).

Thunder get Thompson, Grant Williams, Aaron Nesmith, and Kris Dunn.  I’ve decided that Nesmith is enough to compensate OKC for the expiring contracts they’re also taking on, but OKC a probably demands a pick.
This would be the last gasp hope of doing anything else of significance this off-season.  I like that Collins is similar in age to the Jays.  BUT, what you give up is NO chance for 2022 FA.  I don't think a Big-3 of JT/JB/JC is good enough to get past the elite teams in the East.

Is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander worth a max contract? Seems like a lot for a good starter.

A 23 year old who averaged 24 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds a game on 50/40/80 shooting and he's shown promise on the defensive end too? That's a rookie max player.
2021 Houston Rockets

SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
